Oh my god! Who's on T.V.,
It's that dreamboat Luke Perry
He's got the eyes, he's got the smile,
and he's driving my girl wild

She won't look at me no more,
she found someone new and he's on at four

she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
call me back when you're on t.v.

A pretty boy from Beverly Hills,
she thinks about him by her window sill
He's over here, he's over there
in her mind he's everywhere

she won't take my calls no more
she found someone new and he's on at four

she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
call me back when you're on t.v.

Girl i'm sorry, i'm not a great big star
and i'm sorry I don't drive a fancy car
and i'm sorry i'm not on t.v.
and I don't need a girl who don't need me.

I don't look at her no more
I found someone new and he's on at four

she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
call me back when you're on t.v.

she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
i'm saving myself
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
i'm saving myself
she said i'm saving myself for Luke Perry
i'm saving myself
call me back when you're on t.v.

This is an amzing song. I've heard the band play it live. They are a local rock band out of Fairfax. The song is about a guy who's girlfriend leaves him due to her obsession with a really hot actor from 90210. He is some what jealous of Luke Perry, but in the end realizes why his girlfriend likes him so much, and begins to have his own little crush himself.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
