Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Yeah, hey

Well I'm moving kind of slow
Down that same old path
Wasting time inside this hour glass
She's coming up ahead now
And I feel, yes I feel
My head turning like a race car wheel
Maybe I'll try to say hi another time
I've gotta find a way to get inside your mind
I'll talk smooth and walk one step closer
Be real cool, real cool, real cool, real cool
Dang, real cool

Say what you want, say what you mean
Question yourself, are you really what you seem?
Say who you are, say what you mean
Question yourself, are you really what you dream?

Now here I come one more time
But she slides on by
Not even a second look
She took the bait right off that hook
I've got my blinders on tight
I pull my cap a little lower
I can't hide, hide away

You might think that this is easy for me
But there's a lot of things you don't know
You don't care, you don't want to see
Long while since I've got myself across
But maybe there's a reason for that
Even if I caught you I'd throw you back

Say what you want, say what you mean
Question yourself, are you really what you seem?
Say who you are, say what you mean
Question yourself, are you really what you dream?

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey

Well, I really don't wan to fall back
'Cause you don't seem like you care
And if I would fall back (fall back)
You don't seem like you care
Fall down your back, fall down your back
Fall down your back, fall down your back
You don't seem like you care
I will not, I will not hold, hold you back
You don't seem like you care

Fall back, you don't
Fall back, you don't (hey, hey, hey, hey, hey)
Fall back, you don't (hey, hey, hey, hey, hey)
Fall back, you don't
Fall back, you don't
Fall back, you don't
Fall back, you don't

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

this song fit me a lot. i hadn't gotten over my exboyfriend- we were both trying to be friends, but he didn't get that i still had a problem being around him without being with him. "there's a lot of things you don't know, you don't care, you don't wanna see" but i did not fall back, as i let this run through my head.

i think this song relates to alot of ppl. Think about that person u may see everyday on the street, at work, etc.. that you wanted to talk to, to get to know (get inside their mind) but you didnt have the courage. You cnat say what you really want or what u mean. Maybe it has something to do with someone you already knew but feel off their hook. Its about letting it all go and saying what u need to say without holding back???????? Maybe youll throw them back and maybe theyll take the bait off the hook, but it is worth trying

For me, and this may be all interpretation based on personal life events, this song is about resolving certain conflicts. He is trying to define himself and learn who he is and express that outwardly, while at the same time dreaming and fantasizing about at love life. but how can you love and reciprocate love without knowing and loving yourself? He wants to rely on someone, have some support (fall back) but he doenst know who that can be. Is it the one he loves? Can she do that for him?

I love this song so much, it's so pretty. I love the part where he starts going "fall back". I also like "say what you are, say what you mean..." those lyrics mean so much to me.

This song is a masterpiece! Well it's obviously about how you should just be yourself around the person you love. If you are shy, then the person you want will not take your bait. I can relate to this song because I'm a very shy person so I don't have fun around guys unless I'm myself.

this song gives me chills everytime i hear it, it was the first dispatch song i heard and now they are my favorite band by far...

this song means a lot to me, it just shows you have to be yourself and question who you really are. you have to be yourself around the people you love and things will fall into place.

this song, although not the first song I heard by Dispatch(the general was), is the song that made me start liking the band. They're one of my favorites now and this song is my favorite along with Bang Bang.

I agree with veggiesattva 100%!!! It's about someone who hasnt quite gotten over their ex yet and hasnt been able to get their life back on track because theyre still distracted and hurt by them but have to try and act cool so they don't scare the other person or maybe because it just seems like the other person doesnt care. This person obviously hasnt gotten to say everything they may have wanted to and is still confused about the breakup and is unclear about why things ended. I think they want the other persons attention back but realize the relationship isnt worth falling back into and if it came down to it they wouldnt want the other person back. Their ex obviously didnt/ doesnt care about them much and this person doesnt want to fall back into a relationship where they're taken for granted. The other thing that I think is interesting about this song is it seems as if the person in the song mostly just wants their ex to understand themselves because they dont always say what the want or what they mean, they kind of have a fake front that the person in the song can see, but not see past. However, untill the person in this song gets some closer they cant move on with their life. Well, thats all i can think of- tell me what you think.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
