This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.

any song by the anniversary is of course going to be awesome and unique, but this is the first one that drew my attention to them. the title may throw some people off into thinking that its more of a goofy type song but actually its pretty deep
This is the first song I ever liked by The Anniversary!! It's still one of my favorites!! They kick ass in concert!! I love the title of it too :-) haha Of course they had to play this song at St. Andrew's in Detroit!! Anyways... it's a sad song, but I love it! yeh this song really is beautifully poetic and emo. the first 4 songs of this album just go together so well and i think this is a wonderful climax to that progression. of course the whole album is 10 deep and i love all the songs, but this little ditty about love and separation stands out.

I love the Anniversary, but i recently heard that they broke up. I wish they would get their act together because they made amazing music. this is one of my favorite songs, and the first song i ever heard by them. I saw them in concert a couple years ago with dashboard confessional, and ben kweller...amazing show.
