Another night follows the day
Like a child does to it's mother
And everywhere I look I see your face
On the faces of others
And I can't escape the pain
All the questions I went through
I never told myself the truth
I turned my back on you and me
Cause I was scared to see
That we weren't who we used to be
So now I'm...
Trying hard to let go, let you go
But I can't seem to loosen my grip
Trying hard to let go, let you go
Let you go, go
Feeling emptiness inside
A part of me already died
But I pretended to go on
Like everything's ok
And all we built began to fall
As I began to lose it all
Shut my eyes and set me free
Cause I was scared to see
That we weren't who we used to be
So now I'm...
Trying hard to let go, let you go
But I can't seem to loosen my grip
Trying hard to let go, let you go
Let you go, go
You're all that I ever wanted
You're everything that I need
But now it's finally over
Time for goodbyes
I needed so now I'm...
Trying hard to let go, let you go
But I can't seem to loosen my grip
Trying hard to let go, let you go
Let you go, go

This song is all about a relationship and how it was ended for some reason, but he just couldn't let go. As much as he tries to go on, he just can't let go. Near the end he says that "it's finally over" meaning that he was finally able to let go and have closure. Just my interpretation.

Hoobastank is an amazing band, and it is truly shown in this song....I first heard it on the Scorpion King Soundtrack, but I wish I had've heard it sooner! The lyrics just catch me...I can't explain how much I love this song.

Awesome song! Great lyrics, I know exactly how he feels, "Feeling emptiness inside A part of me already died But I pretended to go on Like everything's ok And all we built began to fall As I began to lose it all Shut my eyes and set me free Cause I was scared to see That we weren't who we used to be So now I'm... I love this song from hoobastank and what i think is funny is that people usually only comment on songs that have been released and say they love the band... if they loved it that much theyd buy the album and actually know the other songs. but oh well thats a different subject. I love this song because its about someone trying to let someone else go but they cant as they are to attached to them. This happens to me so much so i can really relate to it

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Trouble Breathing

While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.
