Clothes that I don’t need in my closet
Why do I even keep them
Don’t even fit me if I’m honest
They know all of my secrets

Through all of the changes they’ve seen me naked
All of the faces of guys that I’ve dated
Why do I hold ‘em like they’ll know if I throw them away

Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental Ahh ah ah ah ah
Like I’m losing my potential
Everything’s so monumental
Gotta lose some to win some
If I wanna find somebody new
But I’m too
Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental

I dyed my hair red like the roses
To reinvent the details
Keep ‘em underneath my bed like you never left
All the things you said in the voicemails

Through all of the phases they hear me praying
Wish I could change but I still feel the same
Holding me back to live in the past
It makes it worse cause I know that it’s bad

Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental Ahh ah ah ah ah
Like I’m losing my potential
Everything’s so monumental
Gotta lose some to win some
If I wanna find somebody new
But I’m too
Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental

I’m too I’m too sentimental
I’m too I’m too sentimental
I’m too I’m too sentimental
I’m too I’m too sentimental
Through all of the changes they’ve seen me naked
The faces of guys that I’ve dated
Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental

Gotta lose some to win some
If I wanna find somebody new
But I’m too
Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental I’m too I’m too sentimental Gotta lose some to win some
If I wanna find somebody new
But I’m too
Ahh ah ah ah ah
I’m too I’m too sentimental

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp
Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
