Not a Religion

The world calls us religious and they call us fake
They say they are right and that we are wrong
They have no God and no room to speak
They shut us up while they carry on
We must stand up and we must stay strong
We must keep our ground and we must stand firm
The world cannot harm us our God keeps us safe
Don't worry about the things that they may say
Don't think about the rules of man just God

This is not a religion
This is not a game
This is a Kingdom
A Kingdom of faith
Our King died for us
He hung on a cross
So we can be free
And we don't have to burn
He took our place
He made the sacrifice
Now we must thank Him
And praise His Name
We may gather for worship
We may have faith
But that doesn't make us religious
We may have a God
We may praise our LORD
But our God died for us
No false god would this for their religion
Only the King of Kings would die for His Children
If Jesus talked about a kingdom
If Jesus said He was a King
If Jesus hung out with those who weren't religious
Why do we associate Him with religion?
Jesus came as a King
And talked about His Kingdom
But over the years
We have turned Him into religion
Jesus was not a religious elite
He was a King
Sent from the LORD
To prepare us for His Kingdom
His Glory
And His Might
We should praise Him for that
And give Him thanks
And love Him
Though He is our King
He is also our Father
And our God
No man made rules
Will get you to Heaven
No religion
Will show you God
There are no rituals you must perform
There are no cults you must join
All you have to do
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, mind, and soul
Love your neighbor as yourself
Have faith in the LORD
Believe His Word
Speak that Jesus is Lord
Know God raised Him from death
Repent
Be baptized in the Blood of the Lamb
This is pure religion
And undefiled before God, the Father
To visit the orphans and widows in their affliction
And to keep oneself unstained from the world
