The song asks artificial intelligence to show the world “what happens after we die?” In the future of A.I. world we are moving into, the answer is not that clear.
Combined with the music video I think a clear picture emerges of specifically what the lyrics are about:
Two lovers on Earth when some kind of cataclysm/apocalypse/mass life-ending event occurs. The singer concludes there is only one way for them to survive, they must transfer their minds into a computer/AI/cybernetic system.
Do they die and an a replica of their minds lives on in a computer? Will they still be able to love eachother? Does consciousness transcend or bridge this event in some way? What will this experience feel like?
