Long Story Short Lyrics
Fatefully
I tried to pick my battles 'til the battle picked me
Misery
Like the war of words I shouted in my sleep
And you passed right by
I was in the alley, surrounded on all sides
The knife cuts both ways
If the shoe fits, walk in it 'til your high heels break
And I fell from the pedestal
Right down the rabbit hole
Long story short, it was a bad time
Pushed from the precipice
Clung to the nearest lips
Long story short, it was the wrong guy
Now I'm all about you
I'm all about you, ah
Yeah, yeah
I'm all about you, ah
Yeah, yeah
Actually
I always felt I must look better in the rear view
Missing me
At the golden gates they once held the keys to
When I dropped my sword
I threw it in the bushes and knocked on your door
And we live in peace
But if someone comes at us, this time, I'm ready
'Cause I fell from the pedestal
Right down the rabbit hole
Long story short, it was a bad time
Pushed from the precipice
Clung to the nearest lips
Long story short, it was the wrong guy
Now I'm all about you
I'm all about you, ah
Yeah, yeah
I'm all about you
No more keepin' score
Now I just keep you warm (Keep you warm)
No more tug of war
Now I just know there's more (Know there's more)
No more keepin' score
Now I just keep you warm (Keep you warm)
And my waves meet your shore
Ever and evermore
Past me
I wanna tell you not to get lost in these petty things
Your nemeses
Will defeat themselves before you get the chance to swing
And he's passing by
Rare as the glimmer of a comet in the sky
And he feels like home
If the shoe fits, walk in it everywhere you go
And I fell from the pedestal
Right down the rabbit hole
Long story short, it was a bad time
Pushed from the precipice
Climbed right back up the cliff
Long story short, I survived
Now I'm all about you
(And now) I'm all about you, ah
(And now) I'm all about you, ah
Yeah, yeah
I'm all about you
(And now) Yeah, yeah
I'm all about you
Long story short, it was a bad time
Long story short, I survived

The twelfth track off her latest studio album titled "evermore" was produced by Aaron Dessner, and released on December 11, 2020.

What the artist means There are so many stories to tell because we are talking about one of the biggest artists of the past decade. She's narrating some of her ordeals, and you can't help but admire her resilience despite it all. She's crooning about where she was when tragedy struck, she fell from the top down into a rabbit hole, and into the hands of the wrong guy. She's crooning super easily about the travails of being in the hands of the wrong guy, she doesn't want to be left at the doors of the golden gates. She's ready this time, just in case, there's another one trying to mess with her like before. Even though she's hopeful, that doesn't mean that she will settle. There's no more keeping score, and there's certainly no more keeping score.
What the song means to me Taylor Swift has that unique talent of giving people hope, people that seem to be rejected by their friends, society, and just about anyone that you could think of. That's why she's one of the easiest artists to listen to, and that's why she has a seemingly endless catalog of classic hits and equally classic albums. The song is a call to arms, it is also a call to finding much-needed solace that she and everyone need to find. There's no need to put all your eggs in one basket, that's what she keeps reminding us all through. The track is marvelous, it bears hope, and the future has never looked brighter. I will give this song a rating of 9/10.

This is a tale of Taylor Swift falling in love ‘long story short’. In the end, it was the “wrong guy,” but she fell “right down the rabbit hole.” However, her new beau is the one she is “all about,” and though it was a “bad time,” “Long story short, I [she] survived.” While a first love may not be the right person and you go a little crazy trying to make it work, the next person may just be the missing puzzle piece you did not know you were looking for. This simple change could make everything right and change you “evermore.” “Long story short,” if you do not find love in the first place you look, keep going, and what you find may surprise you.
