So take them off
The blinders that cover your eyes
Don't break new ground
Just follow the beaten path

Well, all I can do in the end
Is bury it in the cellar (cellar, cellar)
And only a fool would pretend
To blame it on the weather (weather, weather)

It's so dangerous
All this blamelessness
And I feel like I lost all the good I've known
It's so dangerous
All this shamelessness
And I feel like I'm watching a tumor grow, yeah

Now take them down
The roses you smothered, they died
I hear the cries
Of souls you have eaten since

We all must revere and defend
The fortune of the teller (teller, teller)
We all must subdue and suspend
Belief that this gets better (better, better)

It's so dangerous
All this blamelessness
And I feel like I lost all the good I've known
It's so dangerous
All this shamelessness
And I feel like I'm watching a tumor grow, yeah

Please, just say you know you won't be satisfied
Not unless you know your name is verified
God, I hope you choke on hate and stomach bile
Even as you sing the praise of feticide
Please, just say you know you won't be satisfied
Not unless you know your name is verified
God, I hope you choke on hate and stomach bile
Even as you sing the praise of feticide

It's so dangerous
All this blamelessness
And I feel like I lost all the good I've known
It's so dangerous
All this shamelessness
And I feel like I'm watching a tumor grow, yeah
And I feel like I lost all the good I've known, yeah
And I feel like I'm watching a tumor grow, yeah

    My Interpretation

After seeing the video for this on YouTube it's clear that is about someone who for so long has been a good person, following the straight & narrow for so long now finally seeing the dark world around them for what it truly is and finally allowing it to take over them - eventually embodying them fully.

    My Interpretation

It comes across to me as a rebuke of the insane socio-political climate we find ourselves mired in at present. Blindness following with no question. inspiration-less. We foolishly bury our heads in the sand and obey our so-called betters ludicrous whims while making excuses for their idiocy and blaming only those we oppose ideologically. Leaves those of us actually paying attention with a feeling of hopelessness. The current state of affairs is indeed “dangerous”. No question that it is killing each and every one of our souls even before they have a chance to grow.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
