Free fall through our midnight
This epilogue of our own fable
Heedless in our slumber
Floating nescient we
Free fall through this boundlessness
This madness
Of our own making
Falling isn't flying
Floating isn't infinite
Come, our end, suddenly
All hail our lethargy
Concede suddenly
To the quickened dissolution
Pray we mitigate the ruin
Calling all to arms and order
Drifting through this boundlessness
This madness of our own making
Sound our dire reveille
Rouse all from our apathy
Lest we
Cease to be
Stir us from our
Wanton slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to arms and order
Sound the dread alarm
Through our primal body
Sound the reveille
To be or not to be
Rise
Stay the grand finale
Stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue
One drive to stay alive
It's elementary
Muster every fiber
Mobilize
Stay alive
Stir us from our
Wanton slumber
Mitigate our ruin
Call us all to arms and order
This epilogue of our own fable
Heedless in our slumber
Floating nescient we
Free fall through this boundlessness
This madness
Of our own making

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Midnight
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms.
“Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
I'm going to try and keep this simple. There's a certain drive in a person to maintain their survival. This is having one last cry before the end, going down with a fight.
Considering how Maynard writes, lyrics are left pretty vague so you can interpret them as you will, to get you thinking. As an example: Parabola means something WAY different to me now than it did when I first heard it. See also how this album stagnated for so long, I can imagine this was written to get the band off their asses; maintain relevance, stay alive; even though it's likely the end anyways.
Sound the dread alarm, through the primal body; Sound a reveille to be or not to be. Rise, stay the grand finale; stay the reading of our swan song and epilogue.
Favorite moment of the album to me. Take care guys.
@Onedeadchicken what’s up dude hey just thought I’d say hello and give you some feedback on what I think parabola means. Well it’s a parable and see JESUS spoke in parables so it’s a mocking of Christ’s pain and suffering being a lie see by basically saying that this pain were expieriencing is an illusion.... in his parable boils down to if we take that as a literal belief like most people will it really does sound cool to hear and it took me awhile to put it together but it really means what it’s says and in so much of his music it’s all about separation from the Christian God he’s always referring to Jesus . Just. Like when he says there’s no love in fear I’ve studied his music it’s all based on the religion Mystery Babylon. He never mentions the names Osiris isis or Horus . But the light represents intellect also the sun represents primordial knowledge or Lucifer the morning Star wich is Osiris and the moon or million light reflection represents Isis like in reflection the song . Horus represents the child . Like in the jam pneuma “child wake up release the light “and then he says sun becoming . In reference to that religion the child releasing the light the knowledge to wake up and sun becoming “ all Mystery Babylon. One. More example in sober “ murder now the path it must be just because the sun has come . Sun represents the morning star symbol Osiris knowledge light or coming of the ani Christ in the murder of Christianity in the coming dark times . I’m telling you research it . Anyway I just went of on a tangent I get all excited thinking about it it’s really interesting. So also he says When he says the truth he’s referring to Jesus or God for example in the jam invincible as well. in the flood in undertow “ thought the sun had come to deliver me but the truth came to punish me instead “ the flood was god destroying and he thought the sun had come. And in the end he says purge and cleanse me in the water . The floods my favorite. also in reflection “ we are lifeless satellites with out her.” well I’m not trying to speak religiously but the truth be said Maynard’s music speaks rebellion and his music is religious he’s pushing his religion it’s all about religion most people don’t see that any way is love to get your thoughts
