Q&A
Bluebird Lyrics
Yeah, I'm a turner
I turn pages all the time
Don't like where I'm at, 34 was bad
So I just turned 35
Yeah, I'm a keeper
I keep diggin' down for the deep
Like the records I'm playin', they might keep you waitin'
But you know I'm gonna play 'em for keeps
And if the house just keeps on winnin', I got a wild card up my sleeve
And if love keeps givin' me lemons, I'll just mix 'em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stop singin' and all the stars go dark
I'll keep a light on in my soul, keep a bluebird in my heart
Well, I'm a giver, yeah, and I'm still givin' 'em hell
Forgiving's pretty hard, so I made an art
Out of forgetting 'em well
Yeah, I'm a rhymer, I can turn twenty cents into a ten
And if I get confused and I start to lose
I'll rhyme a dime 'til it all makes sense
And if the house just keeps on winnin', I got a wild card up my sleeve
And if love starts givin' me lemons, I'll just mix 'em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singin' and all the stars go dark
I'll keep a light on in my soul and a bluebird in my heart
Repeat chorus
And the bluebird sings
I turn pages all the time
Don't like where I'm at, 34 was bad
So I just turned 35
Yeah, I'm a keeper
I keep diggin' down for the deep
Like the records I'm playin', they might keep you waitin'
But you know I'm gonna play 'em for keeps
And if love keeps givin' me lemons, I'll just mix 'em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stop singin' and all the stars go dark
I'll keep a light on in my soul, keep a bluebird in my heart
Forgiving's pretty hard, so I made an art
Out of forgetting 'em well
Yeah, I'm a rhymer, I can turn twenty cents into a ten
And if I get confused and I start to lose
I'll rhyme a dime 'til it all makes sense
And if love starts givin' me lemons, I'll just mix 'em in my drink
And if the whole wide world stops singin' and all the stars go dark
I'll keep a light on in my soul and a bluebird in my heart

Lambert's song is a reference to Bukowski poem of the same name. Both are likely referring to the "bluebird of happiness."
This is a clever song. Turn 20 cents in to a ten means she's going to increase her money 50x (i.e., a $10 bill), but her plans didn't turn out and the 10 she got was a dime that she'll rub until she figured out what happened.
I also like the way she rhymes "dark" and "heart" by making the "k" extra soft and the "t" silent.
Oooo oooo oooo.
