Come on in, the water's lovely
Look, you could meet someone you like
During the meteor strike
It is that easy
Lunar surface on a Saturday night
Dressed up in silver and white
With coloured old grey whistle test lights

Take it easy for a little while
Come and stay with us
It's such an easy flight
Cute new places keep on popping up
Since the exodus it's all getting gentrified
I put a taqueria on the roof
It was well reviewed
Four stars out of five
And that's unheard of

I'm Mr. Bridge and Tunnel on the Starlight Express
The head of special effects in my mind's eye
Okey cokey with the opposite sex
The things you try to forget
Doesn't time fly?
I'm in no position to give advice
I don't want to be nice
And you know that

Take it easy for a little while
Come and stay with us
It's such an easy flight
Cute new places keep popping up
Around Clavius
It's all getting gentrified
The information action ratio
Is the place to go
And you will not recognize
The old headquarters

All the nights that never happened
And the days that don't exist
At the information action ratio
Only time that we stop laughing
Is to breathe or steal a kiss
I can get you on the list for all the clubs
I can lift you up another semitone

Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
It's such an easy flight
Cute new places keep on popping up
(Cute new places keep on popping up)
Since the exodus, it's all getting gentrified
The information action ratio
(The information action ratio) is the place to go
Four stars out of five

Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
Now, it's such an easy flight
Cute new places keep on popping up
(Cute new places keep on popping up)
Around Clavius, it's all getting gentrified
I put a taqueria on the moon
(The information action ratio)
It got rave reviews
Four stars out of five

Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
Four stars out of five
Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
Four stars out of five
Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
Four stars out of five
Take it easy for a little while
(Take it easy for a little while)
Come and stay with us
(Four stars out of five)
(Take it easy for a little while)
Four stars out of five

My InterpretationMy interpretation, he is describing an Acid adventure or some sort of high. I feel like he is taking us on a journey from start to finish. Hes obvoiusly on the moon with a reference to its largest crater (Clavius)

    "Start your free trial" (Drug)

"Come and stay with us, its such an easy flight" (Process of taking drug, Tab or liquid)

    "Since the Exodus" (Leaving reality)

" I missed a bridge and tunnel on the starlight express, the head of special effects in my mind`s eye" (Describing the brains hallucinations and visuals on the acid trip)

"Doesnt time fly" (Experience one feels with most drugs)

"I`m in no position to give advice" (Hes not sound of mind and he realizes it)

"All the nights that never happened and the days that dont exist" (Time warp on some drugs)

Hopfully you fans enjoyed my interpretation of this great song. I would love to hear more about other interpretations.

My InterpretationWhen I first heard this song, it gave me HUGE reminisceses of 'Hotel California' by The Eagles, especially with the way they incorporate the electric guitar. The way Alex Turner describes his love and appreciation for this Hotel/Casino almost mirrors the way the lead singer of the Eagles describes his appreciation for the 'Hotel California'. As we all know, 'Hotel California' has incredible deeper meanings pertaining to Los Angeles and the city as a whole, and how the music industry of the 60's was basically controlled by studio agents, and those who had money. Specifically, in the beginning of 'Four Out of Five', Alex sings about how nice it is to live in this 'Hotel' -we assume- and also how easy it is to find love and luxury. In one specific line, Alex says, "Since the exodus, it's all getting gentrified." In short this would obviously mean there was a mass departure of people to leave such a place abandoned. Who exactly abandoned it is unclear, and up to the listener to decide, just as much as the rest of the song is up to the listener to interpret, but this is just mine, and I'm glad I could share it.
