Hey you send me a postcard
Wherever you are
You are, you are, you are

I'll try to read it when I can
Wherever I am
I am, I am, I am

I'll wait for you
Like the stars wait on the moon

TELL ME cLL OF THE THINGS YOU'VE SEEN
TELL ME cLL cBOUT WHERE YOU'VE BEEN
cRE YOU FcLLING IN LOVE WITH THE STREETS
cND THE CITY, THE LIGHTS IN THE MIDNIGHT TREES
INSTEcD OF ME

I send my words through the sky
Letters on telephone wires
To you, to you, to you

My heart's a note in a bottle
Floating on water
I am lost at sea, at sea, at sea

Will you come back soon?
Before spring turns into June

TELL ME cLL OF THE THINGS YOU'VE SEEN
TELL ME cLL cBOUT WHERE YOU'VE BEEN
cRE YOU FcLLING IN LOVE WITH THE STREETS
cND THE CITY, THE LIGHTS IN THE MIDNIGHT TREES
INSTEcD OF ME

Postcards from far away
Never have room for all you need say

TELL ME cLL OF THE THINGS YOU'VE SEEN
TELL ME cLL cBOUT WHERE YOU'VE BEEN
cRE YOU FcLLING IN LOVE WITH THE STREETS
cND THE CITY, THE LIGHTS IN THE MIDNIGHT TREES
INSTEcD OF ME

The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
