Shut em down, shut em shut em down! I shut em down shut em down, shut em shut em down! I shut em down!

What's the difference between me and you?
About 32 bucks, a haircut and some shoes
I work hard enough to earn my keep
It seems like your moms purse is all the hardship you've been through
I been brought to you by the letter H
H for hater cause that's what all my friends say I am
I don't hate on anyone but I do have extremely high standards for art
So these haters understand
Relax, no, never, give me everything u got
And I'll return the favor two two fold fold
I'm having a head rush my mind is like a 49er in my stream of thought after seeing that gold
Go and tell them listen to the best the Heiruspecs
And get a little gift for every single time you do it
What do they win? they get the same thing I been getting from the beginning
Just a little energy from out the music
I'm a mouse to an elephant, tryna help you out
You tryna step on me, I'll give you something to cry about
Try me out your don't believe
I got more tricks than David Copperfield up my sleeve
So, please leave me be see my rhyme book is like a ouija
It does what it does and makes it easy
You sicken me man, but you're gonna make me liver
I deal with my illness like a cancer survivor
Get into it or get over it I'm here to kept the pace
I stay real about it see the look upon my face
Dead serious, mean looking and determined
I won't leave this place until I win the human race, fuck you

Chorus 2X
H-a-te-r that's me
Hate on who we are probably
Reach for the sky this is a robbery
I'll take that corny style of which you made a mockery

Wait, slightly bruised still fighting
Keep it all exciting inviting y'all to come and listen in
Indeed we can make this into a hot night
Me and my boys will get the squawking like a rooster in a cock fight
This is not right move the spot light you're supposed to rock mics
I don't think you get this
Fee-fi-fo-fum I smell something burning
I push on through the mess and drop it right like tetris
Dianetics couldn't help you, you're not the right type
Your phonetics are pathetic, meaning that you're not hype
Shoulda left u hanging on the vine, no you're not ripe
You're just another sean paul screaming give me the light
Or get busy, you're like a lawyer you're a lier and fire couldn't find smoke
Shit is not dope
You should really just quit you're too young to retire
I'mma keep on turning words and heads just like screwdrivers
H-a-te-r that's me
I'm a court jester black knight white knight twist in one
I love to hate you and it sounds fun
Push the tongue further lungs are in a ferver
But the words are like a tiger on the hunt crouch, move and I'll pounce
Keep gawking, home is where I stand at
Got the home field advantage every time I swing a bat
Put it down now son don't be obtuse
I get on stage and fly higher then a Redman in a flight suit
I get angry but most the time I'm chilling
One hand out the window the other on the wheel
Keep the reel to real spinning like a daven on the street
I keep gabbing like a meter cop walking the beat
You can be a big dog Felix is a big cat I don't wear a leash but I sit back
Go ahead and get some sense in that big brain
You keep on playing them tracks i'l keep being the train
I got a swagger u blabber and be a nuisance
Batters up hands down your crew tense
Two cents don't buy you nothing not even a phone call saint paul midway up we owned y'all

Chorus x4
H-a-te-r that's me
Hate on who we are probably
Reach for the sky this is a robbery
I'll take that corny style of which you made a mockery

Shut em down, shut em shut em down! I shut em down shut em down, shut em shut em down! I shut em down!

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
