So you're saying that it's over soon
It's over
God help me, it's true
So you're saying that you're marrying
a banker in a shark-skin suit

Oh I shimmer down the fire pole in a Santa suit
with a telescope
So you're saying that it's over soon
It's over
God help me, it's true

So I pull up my collar and zip up my coat
I put my cap on and then I go out
to a sauna on Woodward, a diner on Main
I put out a match on a tank of propane

What good is a lonely heart to a girl on a honeymoon?
What good is a honeymoon when I'm staring in your hotel room?

Sandy, Sandy, get your camera out - I'm naked
in your garbage chute
Husband hit me with a frying pan
It's over, oh I'm helpless now
Do you remember when we were friends?
We told each other everything
Husband hit me with a porcelain plate
It's over, oh I'm helpless now

So I pull up my collar and zip up my coat
I put my cap on and then I go out
to a sauna on Woodward, a diner on Main
I put out a match on a tank of propane

What good is a lonely heart to a girl on a honeymoon?
What good is a honeymoon while I'm staring in your hotel room?

Sandy, what did he do to your hair?
What's on that white dress you wear?
Did your balloon disappear
while I was standing out here?
Oh, what did he do to your hair?

So you're saying that it's over soon
It's over
God help me, it's true
So you're saying that you're marrying
a trader with a silver spoon
[Sigh]
So I pull up my collar and zip up my coat...
[Zip]
I put my cap on and then I go out
to a sauna on Woodward, a diner on Main
I put out a match on a tank of propane

What good is a lonely heart to girl on a honeymoon?
What good is a honeymoon when I'm staring in your hotel room?
What good is a lonely heart to girl on a honeymoon?
What good is a honeymoon when I'm staring in your hotel room?

I'm staring in your room
on your honeymoon
I'm staring in your room
on your honeymoon
I'm staring in your room
oh oh oh on your honeymoon
I'm staring in your room
ohhh on your honeymoon

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Trouble Breathing

While the obvious connections with suicide or alcoholism could be drawn easily, more subtly this song could be about someone who views the world through a negative lens constantly and how as much as the writer tries to show the beauty in the world, this person refuses to see it. It's one or another between the rope and the bottle. There is no good option for this person. They can't see it. Skiba sings it in a kind of exasperated way like He's tired of hearing this negative view constantly and just allowing that person to continue feeling the way they feel knowing he can't do anything about it. You can hear it when he says maybe you're a vampire.
