A week ago you said to me
"Do you believe I'll never be too far"
If you're lost, just look for me
You'll find me in the region of the summer stars
The fact that we can sit right here and say goodbye
Means we've already won
A necessity for apologies between you and me
Baby, there is none

Ah ooh, we had some good times, didn't we?
Ah ooh, we had some good tricks up our sleeve
Ah ooh, goodbyes are bittersweet
But it's not the end
I'll see your face again

You will find me
Yeah, you will find me
In places that we've never been
For reasons we don't understand
Walking in the wind
Walking in the wind

Yesterday, I went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend
But as we raised our glasses up to make a toast
I realized you were missing

Ah ooh, we had some good times, didn't we?
Ah ooh, we wore our hearts out on our sleeve
Ah ooh, goodbyes are bittersweet
But it's not the end
I'll see your face again

You will find me
Yeah, you will find me
In places that we've never been
For reasons we don't understand
Walking in the wind
Walking in the wind

And I know we'll be alright child
Just close your eyes and see
I'll be by your side
Any time you're needing me
Oh yeah

You will find me
Yeah, you will find me
In places that we've never been
For reasons we don't understand
Walking in the wind
Walking in the wind
Walking in the wind

    My Interpretation

I think this song can easily be interpreted as a love song between a couple, but I like to think of it as a song the boys (Harry) wrote for each other (One Direction). Harry was always the least vocal about One Direction getting back together, and I think this was his stance on the whole hiatus. He didn't have to speak out on the situation, because he wrote a song about it.

Hear me out, 'History' is a song for the fans. I think 'Walking in the Wind' is the song for themselves. I look at it as the promise to each other that even though they're taking a (much needed) break, they will see each other again ("I'll see your face again"). This might be the optimist in me, but that's how I interpret the song.

The songs starts with the idea along the lines of: "guys, we're doing it, we're taking a break. It'll be different, but don't worry we're still hear for each other and excited for each other." See below:

If you're lost, just look for me You'll find me in the region of the summer stars The fact that we can sit right here and say goodbye Means we've already won

It's about the time they've had together, the fun, the "good times" the "tricks up their sleeves" -- for me, this triggers images of Louis. See below: Aw, we had some good times, didn't we? Aw, we had some good tricks up our sleeve

The break is referred to as the 'goodbye' ("goodbyes are bittersweet"). But they promise to each other that, "...it's not the end, I'll see your face again". See below: Aw, goodbyes are bittersweet But it's not the end I'll see your face again

The song is about the opportunities that they now have. It's an exciting, yet scary time for them, full of possibilities. This is demonstrated in the lines below: "You will find me, And you will find me In places that we've never been For reasons we don't understand Walking in the wind"

It's an idyllic concept, walking in the wind, imagery of being completely at ease and enjoying life. Taking opportunities as they come and their time to grow.

Throughout the song their is the excitement of new opportunities, but the draw back to their friendship and the importance One Direction has in each of their hearts.

This is my favorite song on the album, and I think that's because of my interpretation of the song, which may be far, far off!

it's for zayn. in the first verse, you can see that the person asking "do you believe i'll never be too far?" is nervous about losing friends. the song is a conversation, reassuring that no matter how far away, they always be there for each other and support each other in spirit. there's an understanding, a sense of forgiveness, a sense of nostalgia but also hope.

"you'll find me in the region of the summer stars", aka LA, aka where zayn ran off to and spent lots of time shortly after leaving the band.

"yesterday, i went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend, and as we raised our glasses up to make a toast i realized you were missing" is sung by louis. there's a photo of louis at liam's birthday party, the first in-band birthday since zayn leaving and he looks a bit sad. obviously, this is just a fan interpretation but i'm reminded of it every time i hear this line.

    My Interpretation

This song is definitely about two people that once were boyfriend and girlfriend, and after everything, they're still friends but the boy still likes her.

A week ago you said to me "Do you believe I'll never be too far" If you're lost, just look for me You'll find me in the region of the summer stars The fact that we can sit right here and say goodbye Means we've already won A necessity for apologies between you and me Baby, there is none

He is remembering moments with his ex, who he's still in love with. And he thinks it is nice that they remain with the friendship after it all happened. No heart feelings.

Awh, e had some good times, didn't we? Awh, we had some good tricks up our sleeve Awh, goodbyes are bittersweet But it's not the end I'll see your face again

He returns to remember the good times with her and thinks that it is not over yet, maybe, they will get back together again. He really hopes so.

You will find me And you will find me In places that we've never been For reasons we don't understand Walking in the wind Walking in the wind

He thinks that they will get back together when they least expect it. It will come along with time.

Yesterday I went out to celebrate the birthday of a friend But as we raised our glasses up to make a toast I realized you were missing

He remembered how she was used to be with him whenever they were out. He misses her a lot.

I know I'll be your anchor Just close your eyes and see I'll be by your side Any time you're needing me, oh yeah

He is saying that whenever she is sad and imagining bad things, he will help her, he will be there for her, he will be her anchor. He will be by her side anytime, like he have always did.

Its a message to a secret lover. Someone with a deep soul connection. "I will see your face again" is focusing on always seeing them in dreams, each time they close their eyes, if anyone resembles any side of the one loved thats not there to laugh and poke fun allowance of much less being more than a physical form of love. Spiritually gifted, self love finding anothers love balancing frequency creating a flame connection thats above all other conections for pleasure or self made projections.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
