"Shit in Your Cut" as written by and Isaac Brock....
I'd hate to be the shit in your cut
But the package is gonna be late
I buried it in an abandoned lot
When I was young this was where I'd played

Dug under the fence with my claws
Smelled the cool dirt on my face
I'm waiting till the hands fall off the clock
Spending dollars at the nickel arcade

I think I'll ride this winter out
I guess I'll ride this winter out

You echo from side to side
Pacing in your clumsy ballet
Based on the books and clothes on the floor
I don't think this is even your place

When the doctor finally showed up (oh boy!)
His fur was soaking wet
He said that "this should do the trick"
We hadn't told him what the problem was yet
(Kaw kaw kaw kaw!)

We'll have to ride this winter out
This time we'll ride this winter out

With the strain and the comforting you know everyone needs to go
But don't everyone go, don't everyone go at once
Expulsion from an exoskeleton of our mothers we arrive
Soft sticky and cold we arrive and then start to cry

All those insects I that sent are trapped in my window once again
Empty their pockets out and I'll sort it at the table
Line 'em up then shoo 'em off
Sure as hell they'll all get caught in our window
Pockets full as they are able

The signs all flicker and buzz all night
Passing by you can hear them say
"Hey, please won't just come on in?
Won't you please just go away?"

This time we'll ride this winter out
I guess we'll ride this winter out

(With the strain and the comforting you know everyone needs to go)
(But don't everyone go, don't everyone go at once)

(With the strain and the comforting you know everyone needs to go)
(But don't everyone go, don't everyone go at once)

(With the strain and the comforting you know everyone needs to go)
(But don't everyone go, don't everyone go at once)

I think I'll ride this winter out
I guess we'll ride this winter out

I guess we'll ride this winter out

General CommentThis song gives me chills! Reminds me of that feeling of depression and deep coldness that comes with winter.

My InterpretationI think this song chronicles some form of drug addiction (most likely heroine), I've been thinking about this meaning alot..

First of all, the "package" he's buried is the next lot of heroine, stashed away in some random place to hide it. He'd therefore be "a shit in [their] cut" because they won't be able to get their hit they need so bad.

"Pacing in your clumsy ballet" possibly due to withdrawal?
He's not sure this is "even your place", showing that the addict(s) are squatting in a random house.

"When the doctor finally showed up" The doctor is probably the dealer, who's arrival they'd been agonisingly waiting for. He has "fur" either because they're trippin' at the time, or they're comparing him to a wolf.
Also, when he says "this should do the trick" shows he's obviously trying to give them heroine, as he can't be a real doctor ("we hadn't told him what the problem was").

The "insects he sent off" are his fellow addicts, who he gets to "empty their pockets" in order for him to support their addiction... either that or he's essentially taking advantage of them.

And of course, the recurring "I guess we'll ride this winter out" just shows their mindsets, of just getting high to shelter from the harshness (winter) of real life. I understand that all this is open to interpretation, so I'm probably not right, it's just this seems to make sense to me when I hear the song, especially after listening to the destructive nature of "lampshades on fire".

General CommentFirst line as given above: "I'd hate to take a shit in your cut"

Hahaha oh man the imagery. I'm afraid it's "I hate to be shit in your cut"

My InterpretationWhen he talks about the doctor's fur being wet, along with the crow sounds, it made me think of the plague doctors from Europe (you know them if you played assassin's creed). They always wore crow masks to counter the bad smells that they thought caused the plague. I know birds have feathers and not fur, but it was the foremost imagery in my mind after hearing how he described doctors.
