Talking like we used to do
It was always me and you
Shaping up and shipping out
Check me in and check me out

Do you like walking in the rain?
When you think of love, do you think of pain?
You can tell me what you see
I will choose what I believe

Hold on, darling
This body is yours,
This body is yours and mine
Well hold on, my darling
This mess was yours,
Now your mess is mine

Your mess is mine

See you in the marketplace
Walking 'round at 8am
Got 2 hours before my flight
Luck be on my side tonight

You're the reason that I feel so strong
The reason that I'm hanging on
You know you gave me all the time
Oh, did I give enough of mine?

Hold on, darling
This body is yours,
This body is yours and mine
Well hold on, my darling
This mess was yours,
Now your mess is mine

Bring me to your house
Tell me sorry for the mess
Hey, I don't mind
You're talking in your sleep
Out of time
Well, you still make sense to me
Your mess is mine

Your mess is mine
This body's yours and this body's mine
Your mess is mine

    My Opinion

Thebrueggson makes a very interesting connection with this song that I never once thought of, but after reading frostyfrost's comment that the artist said it was about love/a relationship, I think my original thoughts might be more on point.

I get the sense that these two have known one another for a while (like we used to do). Maybe they had tried to date in the past and failed (Shaping up and shipping out).

They begin connecting... getting to know more about one another. Literally asking questions about preferences (Do you like walking in the rain? When you think of love, do you think of pain?). It seems she/he is telling the writer about her/himself... maybe some bad things that would ordinary (perhaps historically) scare someone off, but he decides that he will choose how to interpret those things being shared (You can tell me what you see I will choose what I believe).

Next what I thought of was them becoming lovers... This body is yours meaning my body is yours sexually (This body is yours, This body is yours and mine).

As someone who has some baggage them self, I see this "mess" as being that baggage. Meaning that that person will ease the burden of that, take care of the other person the best they know how and take the weight off of the other person who always carries it (hold on, my darling This mess was yours, Now your mess is mine).

I could go into more detail on the rest of the lyrics, but I think they're mostly self explanatory. Anyway, once I put this song up against a feelings of being truly loved and fully accepted, faults and all, by a romantic partner, it brought tears to my eyes... It's one of the most beautiful gifts that can be given to another human being and this song seems to sum it up quite well in my opinion.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
