    My InterpretationHere is what I hear from this song.

    He ended up outside for whatever reason and saw the eyes of a predator (or hunter) and that predator can be whatever.

    Then it goes on to describe the fear. People say don't run, but that usually gets thrown out the window when you are actually in danger.

    You feel like bait because its just watching you, and you need to keep focused on the situation (careful where the mind goes).
    I'm not super sure on the final line of the chorus. Maybe its about ending up dying alone?

    Trying to hold your breath to be quiet or still, is harder than it seems. Don't try it.
    Then it describes the fear intensifying and then it appears the "Hunter" makes its move toward the guy (just grabbed my arm).

    Then, it sounds like to me, the guy realizes he's going to have to fight his way out of this. (I'll beat this jackal down) Send it back beyond meaning obviously to kill it.

    Then the showdown begins...

    That's how I think of it.

    Song MeaningNot sure the entire song is a metaphor for the brother Joe feud, but the bridge part..night, you're a friend of mine, another family better not divide, any, armed, with its beastly doom, i'll beat this jackal down, this interference ends, i'll send it back beyond, I think is a message from Pete to Joe.
