You've met this new girl. You feel like you really get along. You understand she was in previous failed relantioships but you feel like this time it will work out. You will try your best to support her and be with her when she needs you most.

Randomness of love. You didn't look for 'that one girl', but you still found her and you want to smile everything you see her. She brings joy in your life and you've met her by chance.

He feels different. He sees life and other aspects of it extremely different from everybody else. He is afraid to speak up. He is afraid of intimacy. Nowadays people want you to conform, but his mind is somewhere. He hopes she will understand him even he's honest and shows what he truly thinks.

This is the way I see the song and I relate to it. I think it's an incredible song and these lyrics are more than poetry...

This song is about somehow breaking up with somebody who loved you, and who you also love. But since he's anxious about a relationship, since maybe he has not got that big feelings or he's been hurt to often, he wants to be in a gray zone like friends with benefits.

I follow my name /// His name is Foster. So even if they broke up he will "calm her in the storm". Because she's "still his love", and life can also bloom for her, even if their relationship broke into pieces.

In the refrain he tells her: Nevermind what you're looking for, you'll always find, what you're looking for, meaning that she can go on with her life, she's beauiful and she'll always get what she wants. Maybe also that she can have it from him, but without the strings of a relationship/marriage

Sometimes its blinding in the race /// Sometimes you fall for the wrong person like him or sometimes you got the wrong impression what a person wants.

Its hard to know the truth in this post-modernist view where absolutes are seen as relics /// In todays post-modern views being single or being married seems like an old relict. So most of the people are "mingles" (mixed single), like him. He is also scared to go into a relationship because he's been hurt so often. He has cried wolf so many times meaning he cried hardly because he's afraid of the thing she and other women wanted from him (deep love / relationship / marriage)

My minds a minefield of the wretched,its honestly deceptive /// On the other hand he hopes that she will be stay with him in a not relationship way - in the gray zone. Maybe like friends with benefits. So he knows that his mind is in someway twisted, a "minefield of the wretched" (because he's been hurt so many times) for other people. Its "honestly decepting" because she thought that he was trying to be in a relationship.

I just like the guitar in the beginning. Such a nice plucking pattern. After reading the interpretation about how the song describes a breakup, it definitely has a sadder feel leading in.
