Red Eyes Lyrics
Where I witness everything
On my knees
You got to beat it down to get to my soul
Against my will
Anyone can tell us you're coming
But baby, don't mind
You leave it on the line, leave it hangin on the rail
it's easier to stick to the old
Surrounded by the night
Surrounded by the night when we don't give it up
But you abuse my faith
Lose it every time and I don't know where
You're on my side again
So rather here, wherever it goes
Ill be the one who can
Don't wanna let the dark night cover my soul
Well you can see it through the darkness coming my way
Well we won't get lost inside it all again
No one sees me right here waiting
They don't mind that I'm here, I hear
Through the best weight of your mind against it
I won't keep you here, but I can
And I don't see it anywhere I turn
The easy way to cover my sin
Don't want another dark time think to myself
They won't get lost inside it all, Im on my way
Well I can see it the darkness covering my mind
Well we can hear the voices war inside, yeah
They won't get lost inside it all

There are a few youtube performances by them that are a bit more understandable, but it looks he messes up a few times too, it tought to say.
Cover my sin Where I witness everything On my knees You got to beat it down to get to my soul Against my will Anyone can tell us you're coming But baby, don't mind You leave it on the line, leave it hangin on the rail
Coming on right away, it's easier to stick to the old Surrounded by the night Surrounded by the night when we don't give it up But you abuse my faith Lose it every time and I don't know where You're on my side again So rather here, wherever it goes Ill be the one who can
You're all I got, wait Don't wanna let the dark night cover my soul Well you can see it through the darkness coming my way Well we won't get lost inside it all again
Oh yeah, Oh no No one sees me right here waiting They don't mind that I'm here, I hear Through the best weight of your mind against it I won't keep you here, but I can
Oh the right way, you don't wanna see me And I don't see it anywhere I turn
Lost on my sea again The easy way to cover my sin Don't want another dark time think to myself i won't get lost inside it all, I'm on my way Well I can see it the darkness covering my mind Well we can hear the voices war inside, yeah They won't get lost inside it all
I think it's called red eyes because of maybe a lack of sleep from worry, alot of weight on his mind. Just a thought

Lyrics are wrong

To me, this is a like a mood poem--I can't overanalyze it. It is what it is...to add interpretation would ruin it.
It reminds me of early R.E.M. songs or early Feelies music where mumbled lyrics created a tapestry of feeling with different words and ideas drifting through and having impact at different times. The song is musically similar to "Coming Through," but I will gladly forgive that fact because I love "Coming Through" as well.

Whoo! I wish I know what he says but this track is amazing just by its sound. "Yellow Ledbetter" Whoo!

Feels like he’s singing about loneliness or depression trying to keep him from living his daily life but he realizes he can’t stay in that mindset forever

To me, this song describes being hooked on something or someone. Could be a toxic relationship or addiction to drugs. The singer is sometimes strong and wants fights his dark feelings of depressions, yet he keeps the current situation alive to 'cover his sin' and nothing changes, it's all he's got.
