Appears to be song about dying. Be it either the death of a loved one, or that when the writer dies they wish to be remembered in loving memory (in piam memoriam).
The song to me speaks of that life is not eternal and therefore we must live it to it's fullest (make the most of it). Don't hold grudges, don't be angry ... die knowing that you were loved and showered others with love. Because Mother Nature can't lose.
