Our day has come
It's drawn in the sky
So don't shead a tear now
Be thankful for the time

Life wouldn't be so precious dear if there never was an end

Children still play in the garden
Dance as the sun slips away

We stand on the edge now
We've come so far
Through all the dust it becomes clear
You will always be my heart

There's no death, no end of time when I'm facing it with you

Children still play in the garden
Dance as the sun slips away
Not even stars last forever
Cleanse us Acid rain

Stand near to me
Don't look be brave
Over the blackened moon
I'll carry you away
Through the planets we fly

Children still play in the garden
Dance as the sun slips away
Not even stars last forever
Cleanse us Acid rain

Send us home
Send us home
Send us home
Send us home

    My Opinion

I think this song is about a couple and their time has come. But the guy has accepted it peacefully and he wants to face the end together with his love. Oh god i love how this song can be depressing and happy at the same time...

In the track commentary A7x did they said it goes as a pair with planets. Planets is about the world being destroyed and Acid Rain is about the impact of that on the inhabitants.

Very visual song, the lyrics come across clearly.

Our day has come, It's drawn in the sky. (catastrophic asteroid or rogue planet ready collide with earth.)

And through all the dust it becomes clear. (the end is inevitable ... it's clear.)

You will always be my heart. There's no death, no end of time when I'm facing it with you. (sharing their final words before the end)

    Song Meaning

I am a professional song critic but I prefer to keep my name offline. This song is a warning to us about air pollution. It is a message to us to wake up and see what we are doing to our planet. It is a story about a man and his wife or girlfriend watching the storm unfold before their very eyes until they are dead. Basically, the effects that air pollution will have on our environment if we continue to do nothing about it. In summary, this song paints a dark picture of a possible future, and it alone has helped me realize what we are doing to the environment is wrong. This song has helped me realize this issue. Just like A7X I want to help people realize the harm that we are ultimately doing to ourselves. I have already begun studying air filtration. One way I found out how to help our air quality is riding a bike instead of using the car all the time. I learned this information from the New Hampshire government. Regardless of the torment, you ought to never need to overlook or change meeting a man who was everything! I unearthed this tune and I could ever change meeting somebody.. it was a the ride that changed my existence with a move tasting "The Beast!" I just wish to change losing somebody I never envisioned conceivable..

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.
