I can remember the good old days
When you and me used to hide away
Where the stars were shining or the sun was blinding our eyes

Yeah you filled up my glass
With promises that could never last
But I still find pieces of you in the back of my mind

And all of the things that we once said
Are not in my heart, they're in my head
That was the time to say goodbye
Let's put it to rest yeah, let it die

'Cause we don't, we don't need to talk about this now
Yeah we've been down that road before
That was then and this is now

The crowds in my heart they've been calling out your name
Now it just don't feel the same
Guess it's over, yeah we're done

I heard you made your way downtown
To the place that I've been hanging around
I was looking for your face in the crowd
But trying to keep my head down

Over time our wires crossed
Well you changed and truth got lost
All the things I would change if we could only rewind

You were a moment in life that comes and goes
A riddle, a rhyme that no one knows
A change of a heart, a twist of fate
Couldn't fix it, it's too late

'Cause we don't, we don't need to talk about this now
Yeah we've been down that road before
That was then and this is now

The crowds in my heart they've been calling out your name
But it just don't feel the same
I guess it's over, yeah we're done

Whoa, oh oh oh

We don't, we don't need to talk about this now
We don't, we don't need to talk about this now
We don't, we don't need to talk about this now
We don't, we don't need to talk about this now

My InterpretationThis song is about a Man reflecting on either a past relationship or a recent break up.

There's nothing left for them to discuss with their relationship. Both of them have been through this before and everything that could possibly be said or talked about has already been discussed. He's simply reflecting on the relationship with himself.

He loves her but now he truly sees how things are and is using his head and not just his heart. He can now see all the promises, talks and things between them for what they truly are. They no longer hold the same value that they once did and he sees them for what they really are.

He still thinks about her and and looks for her amongst the crowds. However at the same time, he doesn't really want to see her anymore so he tries to avoid any physical meetings.

Somewhere along the way she changed and he realizes this now but he still wonders if he he could rewind to the beginning to stop that change.

In the end he accepts that they're done, there's nothing left to talk about because they've been through it all before. She's one of those people in your life that come and go, despite his love for her he's accepted that.

Once you accept that there's nothing you can do to change a situation there's little that word's can fix, there's nothing to talk about.

General CommentImagine having the perfect thing, where everything fits into place each day and it's all because of this one girl/boy. Well the song explains how it understands the things said meant something but how the words are pointless and there is no need to be spoken because talking leads to nothing and as the song explains he/she goes on about how they have moved on in life yet the thought of the person that originally affected there life still affects them. Yet they aren't stubborn about what's happened they accept how things have to be because that's life, and even though they know the feeling is strong they are being sensible and listening to their head rather than their heart.

General CommentThis song is about someone who is ending a relationship with someone where the love has been lost. The person can remember the happiness they once felt, but that is no longer relevant, it can not be rekindled. The person gave them everything they wanted but it was built up by promises that could not be kept. They will never forget the person and will hold fond memories but no more can be made. Everything they used to feel and say to the person has now stopped being honest and from the heart, they just said it because they felt like they had to and could no longer maintain the lie to themselves that it would work. They are explaining that talking about their past is unnecessary because it won't change anything. They have been thinking about this person before but it doesn't feel the same and they know that it is over. In time they see them again and realise that the 'truth got lost' and they never explained the truth to the person and they wish they could rewind to be honest to them about why it ended but, its too late, it no longer matters to either of them. They are saying that what happened was inevitable, and although they tried it was unfixable.
