Dearly beloved,

I've been searching for some
Silver lining, these hopes of mine all appear lost
So I'm ready to make a change

I know I should've told you
I'd been pining for you,
That pride is something a fool holds onto to feel right
And that's a part I had to play

So I'm cursing photographs and lines
That put your smile next to mine
I'm out of luck and out of time
But not out of songs

That go "Whoa oh
I miss you more than ever"
I'll say I'm sorry, but I won't accept it's for the better
Just be my favorite town, I'll keep you safe and sound

I've been a little reckless
Writing you into my life
With words that I still pretend to hide
And yet I hope that you understand anyway

Just know that I would still put
My world on hold for you
1000 ways to say that I adore you
And nothing would ever dare take that away

So I'll say "Whoa oh
I miss you more than ever"
I'll say I'm sorry, but I won't accept it's for the better
I'll keep on counting stars, wishing I had your heart

So oh oh
Just know I think about you
And how I wish that those were my arms you had wrapped around you
I'll keep on counting stars, to fill these empty arms

So have the best of luck, and find the space you need
These are all the words that I can't find when you're with me:

"Do you remember what it meant 11 months ago,
When you stole the breath straight through my teeth?
Oh, it hurts to see you smile and it hurts to look back
But what hurt most was watching you leave"

So I'll say "Whoa oh
I miss you more than ever"
I'll say I'm sorry, but I won't accept it's for the better
I'll keep on counting stars, wishing I had your heart

So oh oh
Just know I think about you
And how I wish that those were my arms you had wrapped around you
You're still my favorite song, here in these empty arms

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
