Little Tyrants Lyrics
Tell me all the ways in which you feel
So broken lying helpless
Can you even tell me what’s for real
Great divine, great divide, great divine
Somebody tell me
Am I alive?
Alone in a world that lost it’s only black sun
You are the king of an island of one
Little tyrant soon to come undone
Well all hail the king
Justify the things that come to mind
All pictures no color
All the wrong that you think you’ve made right
Dead inside, yours is mine, dead inside
Somebody help me
Are you alive?
Alone in a world that lost it’s only black sun
You are the king of an island of one
Little tyrant soon to come undone
Well all hail the king
Yours is mine
Dead inside
Alone in a world that lost it’s only black sun
You are the king of an island of one
Little tyrant soon to come undone
Well all hail the king

"This song is about self centered people who have isolated themselves on an island of superiority. It makes no sense to me to think yourself better than someone else, this archaic life only leads to a life where you end up with no friends or loved ones on your death bed. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.
Black sun is a reference to Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden." - Stephen Christian anberlinlyrics.tumblr.com June 2014
The band says this song is actually about someone they knew, and this is how they envisioned him, as someone who is somewhat like the character of Max from "Where the Wild Things Are." He marches through his own little world, not caring about anyone or anything else, a sort of "little tyrant."
