Can't you see what you're doing?
With your Deja Voodoo your fooling
Some say tomorrow is today looking back on itself
Then does it follow the days after and after as well
Well,

Well thought we understood
It's just no good
Thought we understood
It's just no good

Can't you see how I'm feeling?
With your miles of smiles and double meanings
So maybe I'm fragile when you see me on Saturday night
I can't let my guard drop if there's anything I can do right

Right, I thought we understood,
It's just no good
Thought we understood,
It's just no good
Didn't think we would, yeah it feels so good
Didn't think we could, yeah it feels so good

There's no sense in breaking down
There's no sense in making up
There's no sense in running 'round
You could do what you want
But just make it say all
All right now

Can't you see what we've done?
With your Deja Voodoo it's too much fun
Some say tomorrow is today looking back on itself
Then does it follow the days after and after as well?

Thought we, thought we, thought we
Thought we understood, it's just no good
Thought we understood, it's just no good
Thought we understood, it's just no good
Thought we understood, it's just no good
Didn't think we would, it feels so good
Didn't think we could, it feels so good
It feels so good
It feels so good
It feels so good
Yeah, it feels so good

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
