The more we rush about, the less we do
I never saw you drift away
The more we spin around, the less we move
I never saw your spirit break
I wish that I could be a journey's end
But you are only passing through, yeah
It's not for me to try to steal your way
I wish you well in all you do

Just say you'll watch how you go
Be gracious with your light
And may the years be kind now
Just say you'll mind how you roam
The things that we have shared
Will soon be left behind now

I hope you know that you're a graceful soul
You fill the room with hope and light
It's only right that you should go your way
'Cause nothing ever lasts that long

Just say you'll watch how you go
Be gracious with your light
And may the years be kind now
Just say you'll mind how you roam
The things that we have shared
Will soon be left behind now

Behind now, behind now, behind now

Just say you'll watch how you go
Be gracious with your light
And may the years be kind now
Just say you'll mind how you roam
The things that we have shared
Will soon be left behind now

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
The things that we have shared
Will still remain behind now

The last part is not from this song, it's from 'On the Road', also from Keane.

This song is cleary about breaking up. There's no one to blame and there's no angry in that, so the person says to her to keep living and don't make reckless decisions in anything that she's gonna do.

I reckon there's something about distance. In "I wish that I could be the journey's end But you are only passing through, yeah", could mean more than just a period of life. Maybe they meet in a business travel, enjoyed each other, but they need to get back to where they came from, to their lives. And it hurts, because they really had a good time together.

But memories are made frequently, specially in a relationship, so all the things that they've been through and shared will fade someday, in a few years.

I found this song pretty sad, but it gives a good message. Be gracious with your life, even if this isn't important to you, it's important to someone else.

I think this song is about post break-up relationships. For some reason the relationship ended, and when you looked back at it you figured out why it didn't last long. However, what you did next is not trying to save it or get her back, but just wishing to cherish the good old memories and live on it. But it makes you feel sad when you find out how quickly the memories fade away as the time slipping by. You once thought you could have been the one she spent the lifetime with, but since it didn't work out, you choose not to blame her or anyone. You are just trying to tell her not to walk too fast in the next relationship and wish her all the best. Because how you feel when you're with someone is much more important than the memories it created. Memories fade but moments remain...

I think this is about the inevitability of any relationship... the time of parting. A lover, a parent or a wife in a break-up. (There seems to be not any trace of romance and that's why i think its more general.) But the lyrics are a beaut.

"The more we rush about, the less we do I never saw you drift away The more we spin around, the less we move I never saw your spirit break"

1st part is pretty clear, because the more we fuss, the worse things come out.

Strange, that nobody noticed that part: "I wish that I could be a journey's end But you are only passing through, yeah" In my mind, what he means - is that he wanted her to be his last love, the one he would stay with until the end of his days. He wanted to be the only and the last love for her also, but she just passed through and went to another guy.

Then he just says how graceful she is and wishes her good luck. It's a very good thing especially from a man.

What I don't understand in this song is "Just say you'll watch how you go" Maybe the case is my bad english, can somebody explain me the meaning? How can she say, that she will watch how SHE goes?

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
