In a while now
I will feel better
I'll face the weather before me
In a while now I'll race the irony
And buy back each word of my eulogy

All the uninvited tragedies
Step outside

Ask yourself now
Where would you be without
Days like this
When you finally collide
With the moment you cant forget

So do I remind you of
Someone you never met
A lonely silhouette
And do I remind you of
Somewhere you wanna be
So far out of reach
Oh, I wish you'd open up for me
'Cause I wanna know you
Amaryllis
Bloom

Stay a while now
Undress your colors
'Cause they're like no others
I've ever seen
I could get used to your company
Step inside

Ask yourself now
Where would you be without
Days like this
When you finally collide
With emotions you can't resist

So do I remind you of
Someone you never met
A lonely silhouette
And do I remind you of
Somewhere you wanna be
So far out of reach
Oh, I wish you'd open up for me
'Cause I wanna know you
Amaryllis

In a while now
I will feel better
I will be better

So do I remind you of
Someone you never met
A lonely silhouette
And do I remind you of
Somewhere you wanna be
So far out of reach
Oh, I wish you'd open up for me
'Cause I wanna know you
Amaryllis
Bloom
Amaryllis
Bloom
Amaryllis

    My Opinion

How I interpret this song is a little different than expected haha. It's about losing yourself for a long time and then trying to find yourself. The silhouette is your the shadow of your former self. So it's just about going through hard times and losing yourself; then finding yourself. If that makes sense. It's the soul talking to it's vessel pretty much.

I think you should be listening to this song and finding out what it means to you it doesnt matter what everyone else thinks it means what matters is what you think it means cause only you can know what it truly means for you and thats why i love shinedown nearly all if their songs have a hidden message for everyone but youre not supposed to know anyone elses secret message only yours cause its yours its personal to you

It's "So far out of reach" not "So pull out a leash" just an FYI

To me it seems as though he is talking to himself.
"So do I remind you of someone you've never met?" He is wishing it could return to a state of happiness he never had, "someone you've never met", but "in a while now, I will feel better". He is battling something difficult on the inside and he feels that he is finally ready for a change; for his flower to bloom. He wants to discover his true self. It's just my interpretation and it's a little different than the other ones listed so I thought I'd share :)

Probably my favorite on Amaryllis, just an amazing song all around. The music, the lyrics, it's perfect. I really hope they release this as a single, it could easily be their biggest hit so far.

Apart from being a lovely flowering tuber,it is a Greek myth about a shepherdess who fell in love with Apollo and she was turned into a flower by Zeus...great song. :)

    My Interpretation

I believe this song is about meeting someone new in yoru life and wanting them to open up, I take it as a song basically saying "You are amazing the way you are, and I'm here for you, you can come to me with anything, but first you have to open up for me" Brent is refering to the person as "Amaryllis" and telling this person to "bloom" or "open up"

Just my thoughts though.. good song, at first I thought it couldn't get any better with Sounds of Madness, and then my brother bought this album and it is so much better! Rock on \m/

    My Interpretation

For me this song is about being in a situation that makes you feel unhappy and miserable but you know you will get out of it and have to hang on, even though a better situation seems so far out of reach, you have to face the weather before you, tell all the uninvited tragedies to step outside and someday you will feel better, someday you will be better.

The reference Amaryllis can be the bulb (miserable situation where you want to hide from the world) and with good care it will bloom and show you her beautiful colours.

The person you never met, the lonely silhouette for me is how you can change into someone you dont even recognize at times because of the situation.

For me... being made redundant and losing the job I loved.

    Amazing song!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
