When you and you forget your name
When all the faces all look the same

Meet me in the morning when you wake up
Meet me in the morning then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

Bitter and hardened heart
Oh
Aching
Waiting for life to start

Meet me in the morning when you wake up
Meet me in the morning then you'll wake up

If only I don't bend and break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

If only I don't bend or break
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait
I'll meet you on the other side
I'll meet you in the light
If only I don't suffocate
I'll meet you in the morning when you wait

General Commenti agree most with Jingy, he loves someone who's stuck in a rut or lost meaning to their life "you forget your name" "waiting for life to start" but he loves her and is sticking by her, telling her he's here for her and will be there for her when she's better "i'll meet you on the otherside, ill meet you in the light". i think by 'otherside' he's referring to her state as a journey through bad times, and by the end of it, on the 'otherside' there will be happiness etc - 'light'. by 'bend and break' hes talking about the toll her condition is taking on him, the way it hurts the most when the ones you love are hurting or hurts you. and hes saying as long as he doesnt 'bend and break', as long as he can get through this with her, he'll be there for her..... :)

General CommentI think it might be about Dementia !
They forget who you are so you meet them again in the morning
If you don’t bend or break or suffocate they meet you again in the morning
That’s what Dementia sufferers have they don’t remember
In the morning in the light
Suffocate is about the person that doesn’t have dementia but is suffocating because they are trying so hard

Just thing of that just for a moment.

I could be wrong but very powerful words

General Commentthis song is one big oxymoron.
I'll meet you on the other side when i wake up.
i'll meet you in the light.
you cannot meet someone on the other side when
you wake up because you are dead. so it's about love to be continued, after old age that is. we should ask the old folks if they feel this way.

General CommentI feel like maybe he's singing to himself. Or a part of himself that will 'be' once he gets through this difficulty. Like he's singing this to his heart as in "heart, I'll meet you on the other side in a better place and we can love again (or feel again, or whatever) when you're healed - if the pain doesn't kill me in the meantime"

    General CommentI found this on a website, something Tim said;

"in bend and break that phrase is more about getting through a really
dark state of mind and emerging into brighter, happier times. the old
saying 'the darkest hour is just before the dawn' is very true and
potent i think. people often say that with proper depression, things
can seem unbearably awful as your thoughts run around each other in
the dark of the night but when the sun rises you can get more
perspective and see things in a more hopeful way."

General Comment"aching, waiting for night--waiting for life to start"

its as if he's not satisfied with his actual life--to him, he's living only when he's sleeping. in your dreams, you can write your own path

these lyrics make me think of the flaming lips song 'bad days'--"in your dreams ... have it your way" songmeanings.net/…

i can relate. sometimes i prefer i had the life i have when i dream than when i'm awake
