Takin it serious, every step from here out be in fear of it
Pedal to metal, you better be clear of it If you do not I can swear I won't nearly miss
Family dearly missing you I am more than merely dissing you
Look at me making moves, shaking the place You mistake an earthquake for me making new music
Just stay in your place, got it? Okay, I treat the game like a plate
I'm ready for feasting, no matter the stakes on the rare chance that you strike me twice
I'm still going down swinging cause I can remember the days of
Walking the bass, grinding that minimum wage Tryna to write a verse to disperse of the rage
Give a hearse to the names of everybody who was throwing dirt on the page
I emerged from the cage and I learned from mistakes I will never let up, let him thirst for the fame
While burst into flames from the curse I retained Giving him hell in every verse till I faint
Like dang, I didn't know he could do this Look at him, through all the doubt he has proven
It ain't just a hobby, he's gotta push through it That's how he's making our rhymebook seem useless
Look at the blueprint, look how the shoe fits Match made in heaven with me with the music
Youngin that's ruthless Pin him up in a war he is not losing
I'm probably the most optimistic pessimist you've ever met
I'm often pissed and disappointed cause I dropped my guard and let them win
But matter fact I told them I was done with it and my suggestion is
We should all take a step back and think for a minute
Better be cautious, I'm obvious with my conditions Ain't dropping no favors, it's limited
I hear em talking but not one is in my position
It's wild, they don't have the time They don't have the check, it's funny I found
They wanting it quick but I want my dime I give them the shtick, they don't make a (shh)
I'm trying to roam through the Vatican Fully establish that I am not fucking around
The people that know the importance of effort and time into work, are the ones who will bounce
I don't need none of the bullshit You leave me behind then you lose me
And I might call you an acquaintance But that's if I'm using it loosely
You see me on top of the mountain Reaching new heights and got new dreams
See I'm CGI'ing the blueprint Yeah you think I'm shooting on blue screen
See I'm trying not to get my hopes up now A lot of people let their goals run out
Slow and steady isn't always easy But I'd recommend it if you're so profound
I'm Serious

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
