They Say It's Wonderful Lyrics

They say that falling love is wonderful
It's wonderful, so they say
And with the moon up above, it's wonderful
It's wonderful, so they tell me

I can't recall who said it
I know I've never read it
I only know they tell me that love is grand, and
The thing that's known as romance

And without any warning, you're stopping people,
Shouting that love is grand, and
To hold a man in your arms is wonderful, wonderful
In every way, so they say

"They Say It's Wonderful" is a melancholy song told from the vantage point of one who has never experienced the joy of love. The lyrics point out that the singer has only heard what others have said about how wonderful love happens to be. The story teller is even detached from a first hand witnessing of the joy of love, as he comments, "I can't recall who said it, I know I've never read it." To add to the sorrow of the story teller, there is no lyrical expression that he/ she is actually looking for love. Only the casual statements that "They Say It's Wonderful." The simplicity of the lyrics delivers this beautiful and complicated feeling.
