Alone, why must I be alone?
I've spent so many hours with you
How can I be alone?

Alone, why must I dream alone?
Our dreams where made for us to share
How can I dream alone?

There's such a thing as forgiving
So why can't you forgive?
There's such a thing as forgetting
Can't you forgive and forget?

Apart, why must we be apart?
And put our hearts together
And never be alone

There's such a thing as forgiving
So why can't you forgive?
There's such a thing as forgetting
Can't you forgive and forget?

Apart, why must we be apart?
Let's put our hearts together
And never be alone

This is when you tell a person, if you want companionship than you need to come and get it. If you have the desire and courage to get it from someone else, than excuse me for not feeling too guilty. That's what this song is about. It's about taking a risk and trying something out of the your norm. It's about actually living that independent spirit and freedom you spout off about. We all have doors, front and back. Just knock.
