Yeah it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright

Well I got the call soon as the day hit night
As soon as the headlights lit up the Westside
I stopped the car and came outside
Cause I know that tone
I remember the first time
We wished upon parallel lines
Waiting for a friend to call
And say they're still alive
I've given everyone I know
A good reason to go
I was surprised you stuck around
Long enough to figure out

That it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright

And now all my loves that come back to haunt me
My regrets and texts sent to taunt me
I never claimed to be more than a one-night stand
And now I've given everyone I know
A good reason to go
But I came back with the belief
That everyone I love is gonna leave me

And it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright

And I know, oh no,
You've fallen from the sun
Crashing through the clouds
I see you burning out
And I know, oh no,
That I put up a front
But maybe, just this once,
Let me keep this one

Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright
Yeah, it's all alright
I guess it's all alright
I got nothing left inside of my chest,
But it's all alright

    My Interpretation

I feel like this song is about a young war veteran or a soldier who has lost a lot of friends. "I know that tone, I remember the first time .. waiting for a friend to call and say they're still alive" means he's lost more than one important person in his life.

At first he says that he's given everyone he knows a good reason to go, as in leave him, but was surprised that "you" stuck around - this is someone he loves, maybe a girlfriend or lover who sticks with him. I think this is the same person he refers to later when he says she fell from the sun. He puts up a front of happiness/being okay, but knows that his unhappiness affects her too ("I see you burning out") He also says that he never claimed to be more than a one night stand, so I think perhaps he was trying to push her away at one point, but she still stuck around.

The second time he says "I've given everyone I know a good reason to go" he follows with "but I came back with the belief that everyone I love is gonna leave me." He's talking about a different kind of leaving, one where he comes back: he justifies/believes his reason for going to war, but in reality it has affected him deeply.

....this song kind of describes exactly my current relationship.

I remember the first time We wished upon parallel lines

"Parallel lines" is a reference to the time 11:11. The numbers make four parallel lines, and it's a time at which many people make wishes.

I remember the first time We wished upon parallel lines Waiting for a friend to call And say they're still alive

Always strikes me as something about the Twin Towers, because the towers went down and phones couldn't get signal so they could call their loved ones.

Though, reading through other interpretations, I think 11:11 is a much more appropriate explanation.

    My Interpretation

I think its about being pushed out and hated by people you love, and thinkinf irs your fault, then someone finally decides to stay, but even they want to leave.

"But maybe just this once, Oh let me keep this one."

The wishing on parellel lines thing is for 11:11.

The people who left made fun of him even though he loved them.

"And now all my loves have come back to haunt me, My regrets and texts sent to taunt me."

The reference to parallel lines is most likely connected to the song "Dog Problems"

"We are parallel lines We’re running in circles We're never meant to cross"

I think the first verse where he says "Well I got the call as soon as the day hit night..." is referring to a car accident, hence the "parallel lines" and "waiting for a friend to call and say they're still alive".

I get a ''Existential Nihilism'' feeling whenever i listen to this. Gr8 song by the way. He's saying if it has a beginning, it has an end, no matter how good it feels today, how happy you are, there's an expiration date on it all. enjoy your relationships, happiness etc, cause one day it will all be a memory. he says and i quote (I came back with a belief, that everyone i love is going to leave me) whether it be due to death, breakups etc.. he has a carefree attitude towards relationships/life. he knows they come and go. but in the last verse he quotes (Let me keep this one) he meet someone whom he loves deeply, so he's begging life to please let this one (relationship) last. -Shaheem Carter.

My interpretation is, it's about this couple, and the girl dumps him. So, he goes somewhere and tries t forget about it. But she comes back and wants him back. That's what I think.

It's about feeling like an asshole and regretting it.

He doesn't like himself and he understands other people don't.

One person came along and persisted and was great. But now they've left him.

He says he's All Alright but has had his heart ripped out so it isn't ok at all.

But he's trying his best to carry on.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
