"Insurrection" as written by David Randall Blythe, Mark Morton, Will Adler, John Campbell and Chris Adler....
When the walls fall around you is when you begin to find
That the depths you have found have become now too hard to climb
You reconcile your pain in the loneliest refrain
And crawl tied and bound to the one thing you can't leave behind
You can't leave behind, you can't leave behind

And start over again this insurrection
The same reflection, perpetual
And start over again and again and again and again
This insurrection

A broken voice without a word to live by
Eyes slammed shut watch the world go by
It should have been way better than this
You can't anticipate the things that you miss
And how long 'til you let it go
Master unreality nothing to show and in the end
Top of the mountain of nowhere
First in the line dying to get back there
You can't get back there
You can't get back there

And start over again this insurrection
The same reflection, perpetual
And start over again and again and again and again
This insurrection
And start over again

First in the line to catch a glimpse of the shrine
The closest we ever got to divine
Irrefutable indisputable infallible impossible to deny
Impossible to deny

And start over again
This insurrection
The same reflection, perpetual
We start over again, and again and again
This insurrection
We start over again

General CommentWell, I don't know. There's this line:

"When the walls fall around you is when you begin to find
That the depths you have found have become now too hard to climb"

I suppose it's about when the things you used to rely on in life "fall around you", and that what you once didn't care of (the depths you have found) are now impossible to reach (have become hard to climb).

"Eyes slammed shut watch the world go by"

I think this one is about people who can't try to be open to the world, and enclose themselves into a comfortable, easy, and simple way to live, by defining only certain valors as important and by rejecting others. In such a situation if "the walls fall around you" (= the life you created yourself collapses), you're left with nothing, and the things you rejected (the depths) are now difficult to reach.

Anyway, that's all I can find, it may be totally wrong and I have no idea what the "insurrection" thing means.

My InterpretationThought about it a little and I think what I just wrote is bullshit.
The "depths you have found" which have "become hard to climb" are probably referring to addiction or something.
If we analyze it from this point of view, the song is about being addicted to some shit (maybe drugs) and realizing how hard it is to recover from that (the depths have become hard to climb). Then the term "insurrection" must represent the struggle against the addiction and everything.

But I think that we can also see this song from a political point of view. I don't really have a clue about what it would mean in that case, but I think it may be about letting yourself overwhelmed by a political system ("Eyes slammed shut watch the world go by"), and finally realize your mistake and try to correct it. In this case, "insurrection" may represent the rebellion against this system.

Also, "And start over again this insurrection
    The same reflection, perpetual
And start over again and again and again and again".
this goes in favor of the previous interpretation, as revolutions are cyclic in history.

But so many things in the lyrics aren't linked to any of the to explanations above, that's why I think that what I wrote probably isn't the correct interpretation of the lyrics, meaning that its not what LOG was meaning when they wrote it. So my meaning isn't probably the right meaning but what I mean is that the meanings I just cited are valid meanings and that even if they aren't the true meanings, they represent (from an absolute point of view) valid meanings for the analyzed lyrics.

    That's it. Fuck you.

    My InterpretationI love this song!

Pretty sure it is political. Insurrection means an uprising. I think its about how the government tears itself apart every time its term is up. Think about it, They promise the world and never deliver and give every excuse under the sun.
-When the walls fall around you is when you begin to find
That the depths you have found have become now too hard to climb
You reconcile your pain in the loneliest refrain
And crawl tied and bound to the one thing you can't leave behind
You can't leave behind, you can't leave behind-

Then its about how they try to just wait for it to blow over and how given another term they can fix THIER fuck ups and because they have fucked up, everyone has forgotten about the mess the last guy caused.
-A broken voice without a word to live by
Eyes slammed shut watch the world go by
It should have been way better than this
You can't anticipate the things that you miss
And how long 'til you let it go
Master unreality nothing to show and in the end
Top of the mountain of nowhere
First in the line dying to get back there
    You can't get back there
    You can't get back there

THE most important part of the song lyrically
    - And start over again
    This insurrection
    The same reflection, perpetual
We start over again, and again and again
    This insurrection
    We start over again-

Its always the same fucking shit with politics! democrat, republican etc and it will always be. however every time there is an election its always the same Insurrection against the previous person in charge....Get it. well that's my thoughts anyway rough, quick and somewhat to the point.

My Interpretation"When the walls fall around you is when you begin to find,
that the depths you once found have become now too hard to climb".

I think this refers to confronting your inner demons, at least to me. For me Resolution was a very personal album, and I think for Randy too, this was an album (and a period in his life) where he really got to sit back and reflect on himself. Anyways, at least to me what this line is saying is basically is you've reached a point of soul searching or what have you where you've discovered some really dark places within yourself; how ugly of a person you can become, the awful things you or any person really is capable of. It's just this realization that you have the capacity to be an awful human being, and you've always sort of been searching for these "depths" whether they be depths of depravity, rage, or sorrow, you've basically hit rock bottom, even though you'd been in a sense searching for what rock bottom was.
And now that you're here, you can't find yourself ever going back. You've kept yourself in a dark place for such a long time that it feels like it's impossible to ever go back.

"You reconcile your pain in the loneliest refrain,
and crawl tied and bound to the one thing you can't leave behind"

You know the problem, you know the source of your pain, sorrow, rage, what have you. But at the same time, because it's the darkness you cannot crawl out of, it takes a form of your imprisoner, shackling you and making you crawl about like its slave. That darkness, for whatever reason, you can't leave it behind, you can't lose it. You know it's not good, but you just won't let it go. It's not necessarily become part of you, but more accurately it owns you.

"And start over again this insurrection,
    the same reflection, perpetual
And start over again and again and again
    this insurrection"

Perhaps you have tried to move on from it, to rise against this darkness within yourself and show it you're stronger than it thinks, strong enough to break the holds it has on you. You've "revolted" against it who knows how many times, but each and every time you're back within your shackles, waiting to rise again. it's maddening, you go through the same cycle again and again and again, it seems like there's no end to the torment that you're caging yourself to.

"A broken voice without a word to live by,
eyes slammed shut watch the world go by,"

Although you can see, you choose not to, and although you can speak, you remain quiet. The darkness continues to eat at you and day by day you begin to enjoy less of the things that make up your life. In a sense, you've shut off your senses, and all you can feel is the slow rotation of the earth and the ticking of the great clock of time, as the years pass by you like a cold breeze.

"it should have been way better than this
you can't anticipate the things that you miss"
and how long 'til you let it go,
Master unreality nothing to show and in the end,

Your life could have gone so much better. So many missed opportunities, so many failed chances, all because you've let this demon keep you down for so long, and all you can think about now, every single moment of every single day is where you messed up and how you could have fixed it or made it better.

"top of the mountain of nowhere
first in the line dying to get back here,
    you can't get back here."

You've done it: you've found your darkest depths, and now here you stand, on a summit overlooking your entire life; every single step down you took to get to the dark place you are now, always with the darkness within standing by you, hands firm around the chains. You look at how your life could've been, and you're dying to go there, to go back before you made this dark venture down, but you can't.

"First in the line to catch a glimpse of the shrine,
the closest we ever got to divine
irrefutable indisputable, infallible impossible to deny"

I'll be honest, I'm not sure how to interpret this verse, I felt like from how I understood the lyrics, this was the one that stuck out and I couldn't put a pin on.
