I've waited a hundred years
But I'd wait a million more for you
Nothing prepared me for
What the privilege of being yours would do

If I had only felt the warmth within your touch
If I had only seen how you smile when you blush
Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough
Well, I would have known
What I was living for all along
What I've been living for

Your love is my turning page
Where only the sweetest words remain
Every kiss is a cursive line
Every touch is a redefining phrase

I surrender who I've been for who you are
For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours
Well, I would have known
What I've been living for all along
What I've been living for

Though we're tethered to the story we must tell
When I saw you, well, I knew we'd tell it well
With a whisper we will tame the vicious seas
Like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees

    My Interpretation

This song is a very beautiful. "I've waited a hundred years But I'd wait a million more for you" Its a complex love song about a love that is so pure and special that the wait is worth it if it means that you get to be with the love of your life. I like the way that the instrumental starts off slow and intimate then, picks up pace but, still remains are sultry and romantic.

I cannot believe such a sweet song exists. It explains perfectly how it is to love so much that you find this person the reason of your existence.

It describes how love can fill your heart with such power...

    My Interpretation

To me this song is about a guy who's loved a girl for a very long time. But, when he finally gets the chance to be with her he blows it, thinking of all the things he could have done, "If I had only felt the warmth within your touch, If I had only seen how you smile when you blush, Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough, I would have known what I was living for." She comes back to him and he thinks the wait is worth it because he's had time to become a better person."I surrender who I've been for who you are ,nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart." He gives up all of his bad ways to be with her.

I'm surprised there aren't more comments as well. This has got to be one of the greatest love songs ever written and the lyrics are just brilliant.

I'm trying to figure out the phrase "your love is my turning page". When I first heard it I immediately thought of it as this love is a way for him to move forward into the next chapter of his life. He talks about waiting so long for her, almost like he's been stuck in this phase where he can't progress or move forward. But now the story can continue. That's just what I got from it anyway.

    My Opinion

It's a song about how much a person loves his/her significant other, how he/she feels like finding the right one after a long road of his/her life.

"Your love is my turning page Only the sweetest words remain Every kiss is a cursive line Every touch is a redefining phrase I surrender who I've been for who you are Nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart If I had only felt how it feels to be yours I would have known what I've been living for all along What I've been living for"

---is trully what he/she feels for her/him but unfortunately he/she is not hers/his

Eventhough they don't end up being together, both of them are certain that their love was great and unforgetable..

I love how the slow pace song delivers the strong love message even harder..

Hopefully the man that I had sent this song to, understands the lyric like I do and able to realize how deep my love was for him..even when we're not together...

    Song Comparison

comparison to twilight. (sorry but i love twilight and i found this AMAZING song through breaking dawn.)

I've waited a hundred years But I'd wait a million more for you (edward has waited a LONG time for bella, and he would wait more for her)

Nothing prepared me for the privilege of being yours (nothing, even being a killer could have prepped him for being bellas)

If I had only felt the warmth within your touch If I had only seen how you smile when you blush Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough I would have known what I was living for... (if edward had seen bella before, he would have known why he was a vampire, why he was living.)

Your love is my turning page Only the sweetest words remain Every kiss is a cursive line Every touch is a redefining phrase... (bella is awesome to edward... he loves her so much)

I surrender who I've been for who you are Nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart If I had only felt how it feels to be yours I would have known what I've been living for all along What I've been living for... (edward would die for bella. she makes him stronger. if he had only felt the love he had for her before, because its so strong. NOW he knows, why he is alive)

We're tethered to the story we must tell When I saw you well I knew we'd tell it well With the whisper we will tame the vicious scenes Like a feather bringing kingdoms to their knees (theyd tell their story of them being together well? idk this verse very well...)

    My Interpretation

I've waited a while And would wait much longer if I had to You were well worth the wait

If I really saw who you are I would have known that you are the one

Your love changes me everything we do brings us closer to love each other more and more

I will change anything to be with you Your loving and caring heart makes me confident and reflects onto me If I had known how right it felt to be with you I would have known that you are the one

Although we'll have ups and downs From the moment we met, I knew it would all be worth it With our unconditional love for one another, we won't let the world tear us apart We are very unique and special, unlike all of the others

    My Interpretation

This is my personal interpretation in the context of a situation I am going through right now. I do not believe this is necessarily (or at all) the musician's meaning behind it... this is how these couple of lyrics touched me today in the moment i am living right now...

"I surrender who I've been for who you are"

I feel like, in my current situation, I was so set in my ways and wanting him to change that I didn't realize that I needed to make some changes with regards to acceptance and understanding that him and I are not exactly alike and I can not make him be someone he is not and that I need to surrender who I am (dominating the situation and wanting what I want when I want it) for who he is (someone who is slow to change, shy, not as touchy feely as I'd prefer, etc. etc.) I must accept his way of being and to do so I must surrender my "need" for him to be something his is not...

"Nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart" The same situation I spoke of above... I have had to be so strong through all of this. Surrendering my needs and wants and desires in order to keep around the man that I love so much... this man who has a fragile heart, that I didn't even realize he did until recently. But he is fragile. I am not so much. I am growing stronger through this and I'm realizing that I CAN sacrifice some of my desires and needs for him... for my love. I can do it and I will be stronger for it and who knows? Maybe down the road he will grow stronger and he may someday be able to fulfill some of these needs and desires I have that he is simply unable to do at this time... Maybe later he will be able to stand in the other shoes and make sacrifices for who I am... and we will meet in this beautiful middle.

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
