And she was like a starry night
Like a Ferris wheel, full of blue-green eyes
And a heart of steel, always on her own
Almost never real

When the night will begin
The pain it won't end
Even if she falls in love
Back, you wanna turn back
Your heart will attack
Even if she falls in love

And she was like a blade of ice
Like a lonely road, clearest day alive
Always sharp and cold, always beautiful
I am such a fool

When the night will begin
The pain it won't end
Even if she falls in love
Back, you wanna turn back
Your heart will attack
Even if she falls in love

Try to look in her eyes
The light is just right
Even if she falls in love
And it isn't so bad
It's driving you mad
Even if she falls in love

When the night will begin
The pain it won't end
Even if she falls in love
Back, you wanna turn back
Your heart will attack
Even if she falls in love

Try to look in her eyes
The light is just right
Even if she falls in love
And it isn't so bad
It's driving you mad
Even if she falls in love

I think it's about falling for a girl who might fall for you, but you know she won't be with you in the end.

"And she was, like a starry night, Like a Ferris Wheel, full of blue-green eyes, And a heart of steel, always on her own, Almost never real"

The first few lines are just a few notes on how amazing she is. A heart of steel is a reference to her painful situation that always leads to her being on her own, or at least in a relationship that isn't real; put whatever you want into here. I think the best explanation would be she's hanging around with an ex who treats her wrong, but, you know girls in rock songs - they always go back no matter how unhappy they are.

"When the night will begin The pain it won't end, even if she falls in love Back, you wanna turn back Your heart will attack, even if she falls in love"

This is pretty much where I got my idea from. Even if she falls in love with you, you're still not going to have her. You know you won't have her and you know you're just going to have a pain-filled heart, even if she does fall in love.

"And she was like a blade of ice Like a lonely road, clear as day, alive Always sharp and cold, always beautiful I am such a fool"

Contrasting images of the girl: she's both clear as day/alive, and sharp and cold. This is him debating whether or not to try to be with her; he's presenting her in both a good and bad light, talking himself in and out of it. It's important to note that "like a lonely road" is in the positive line. In my explanation, he's trying to convince himself that she's alone, but he knows she's lingering around her ex. Judging by the nature of the song, he's leaning towards trying for her anyway, admitting it's a foolish idea, but love means you don't care.

"Try to look in her eyes The light is just right, even if she falls in love And it isn't so bad It's driving you mad, even if she falls in love"

He's falling for her hard now that he's started trying, and he's even starting to believe that it could work. However, his sense that "the pain won't end" is nagging at the back of his thoughts and driving him mad, even as he believes she's falling in love.

    This is my opinion.

I think it's about a guy who wants a girl, but he can't have her for some reason (he has a girlfriend, for example). He feels really attracted to her, and would like to be with her, but he knows it can't be. So he doesn't want her to fall in love with him, and he knows he's such a fool for feeling like this, but he can't help it. He feels way too attacted to her: she's mysterious and cold, and that's driving him mad. He knows he shouldn't, but he still wants to conquer that heart of steel... even if she falls in love. The fact that he sees her like a "starry night" makes me think he mostly sees her at night... Late at night when he's all alone he sees her in his head. Up there in his mind, he can't touch her ("almost never real") like a star in the sky, she's unreachable. He doesn't see her often, but he thinks about her a lot. That's why when the night will begin, the pain it won't end. He wants to turn back, he wants to stop feeling like this and get his life back to normal but he can't. His heart will attack and even if she falls in love, he will still want her. When they'll see each other he won't be sure about her feelings, so he tries to look in her eyes for an answer. The light is just right, and what he sees is what really is: she has feelings for him too but he doesn't know if she might end up falling in love. And then again, the pain won't end and it will drive him mad... He doesn't know what to do, and even he tries to convince himself it isn't so bad to feel the way he does, he's still confused. So bottom line, I think it's a complicated relationship: they're really really attacted to one another, but they both know they can't be together for different reasons. They don't want to fall in love because they know it will end up hurting a lot and causing them pain, they know it will never work out. So even they try to be friends, they can't help being attracted to each other. And when they see each other, the desire is so big it drives them crazy, and for a moment they don't really care if they fall in love, they just want to be together.

I think this song is about a guy who wants to be with a girl. But, the girl is psychotic.

    • I think he's saying that the girl was beautiful. Her heart was of steel because she has emotional problems and even if she does fall in love - she wont be able to completely because she has emotional problems.I think he is saying that the emotional crap will not ever end. Even if she does begin to love him because she has problems. He wants to leave, but there is something about her- he cant leave. She has so many emotional problems that she cannot love him 100% (maybe trust issues) and appears emotionally cold to him and it's hurtful to him. He's upset with himself that he can't just leave it alone. I also think that he is saying that he cannot read her. He cannot get through to her (try to look in her eyes). He is justifying that she hurts him emotionally because she has issues (it isnt so bad, it's driving you mad).

Has anyone ever thought that this could be about Toms daughter? Even though he loves her so much he is eventually going to lose her to someone else and it scares him. He wants to be happy for her if she falls in love with some nice guy, but at the same time if he tries to turn his back he will figuratively "have a heart attack". And during the second verse he realizes he is "such a fool" for being so afraid and he begins to understand that she can take care of herself. And the "blade of ice" could mean that it has sometimes been painful to see her become more independent("cold") and that it is painful to let her grow up. These are just my thoughts, I could be totally wrong.

Apparently they mean a lot to each other. Don't know why they can't be together, but there must be a good reason. Maybe her heart of steel or the fact, that isn't able to show her real feelings. (always on her own - even if she falls in love)

This song means that about you girl you love falls in love with someone else.

"And she was, like a starry night, Like a Ferris Wheel, full of blue-green eyes, And a heart of steel, always on her own, Almost never real"

This verse is about his feelings towards her and how she is perfect to him like she isnt real.

"And she was like a blade of ice Like a lonely road, clear as day, alive Always sharp and cold, always beautiful I am such a fool.

This verse is similar to the first one but at the end he is saying how he is a fool for letting her go.

When the night will begin The pain it won't end, even if she falls in love Back, you wanna turn back Your heart will attack, even if she falls in love

Try to look in her eyes The light is just right, even if she falls in love And it isn't so bad It's driving you mad, even if she falls in love

The ending is saying how it feels to know she fell in love with someone esle. Lines like Your heart will attack and Its driving you mad.

Immediately I thought to myself this is a song about a guy loving a girl who is incapable of love.

Even if she wants to love, whether she is emotionally damaged or whatever she cant. I think the lyrics referencing her being alone, the pain never ending are examples of someone emotionally damaged.

This guy wants to turn back because he knows in the end it will not work out if she cant let her guard down. She has a heart of steel because she wont let anyone in, hence "And a heart of steel, always on her own" even if she does fall the pain will always be too much for her, preventing her from full loving this man, he knows this and realizes he is a fool for loving her knowing she cant.

Or even mean that she does love him. but too scared to show her feelings, too much pride or afraid of rejection. She rather keep the feelings to herself and be alone than deal with any of the pain that may come with love.... he knows this and he is driven mad because he wants her to see past whatever issues she may have with love and not be afraid, but she still pushing him away. He is a fool because he realizes no matter how hard he shows her he does love her, her fear of these feelings are too painful to give into them.

    My Interpretation

I think it's about a guy, who is in love with a girl "And their she was like a starry night Like a Ferris wheel, full of blue green eyes And a heart of steel always on her own Almost never real" she's just so amazing it's unreal. And when he says heart of steel, I think he means she does not show love, he is " such a fool" for not seeing that she loved him(because she didn't show it) and now she's in love with someone else, but he can't let go "Even if she falls in love" even though she loves someone else he still loves her too much to quit trying. There is just something so special about her. I don't know if you understand what I mean with this, not the best at english.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
