I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
Take my hands
They're all I've got
I ain't got no nothing to prove
But I forgot
Take my heart
I'll wear it out
The friends I make here
All come in extra cars
Let's say we all get lost
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead end drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
Take my hand
And twist my arms
I ain't got it in me
To set off bells and alarms
And tell my mother
I'm not coming home
It's been all for nothing
Baby, for all too long
Let's say we right this wrong
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead end drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead and drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
They're all I've got
I ain't got no nothing to prove
But I forgot
Take my heart
I'll wear it out
The friends I make here
All come in extra cars
Let's say we all get lost
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead end drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
Take my hand
And twist my arms
I ain't got it in me
To set off bells and alarms
And tell my mother
I'm not coming home
It's been all for nothing
Baby, for all too long
Let's say we right this wrong
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead end drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
Just around the bend
And back again
Just another place to leave without a trace
Just another mile down a dead and drain
When the river turns
I'll come down with the rain
