Younger Girl Lyrics
She's one of those girls who seems to come in the Spring
One look in her eyes and you forget everything
You had ready to say
And I saw her today,yeah...
A younger girl keeps a-rollin' 'cross my mind
No matter how much I try, I can't seem to leave her memory behind
I remember her eyes, soft dark and brown
Said she'd never been in trouble, or even in town
A younger girl keeps a-rollin' 'cross my mind
And should I hang around, acting like her brother
In a few more years, they'd call us right for each other
And why
If I wait I'll just die, yeah...
[repeat verse 1; fade]

Nobody has commented on this song? This is my favorite Sebastian/LS song, and one of my favorites of all time. The Critters did a nice cover of it in '66.

obviously about an attraction forbidden or otherwise, but in my estimation not in a lecherous manner - the song Young Girl by Gary Puckett/Union Gap had far more racy overtones while this one exudes a certain yearning - the narrator digs the girl and senses that it could be the real thing but the timing is the killer - so what are we left with? does he follow up with this or does he let it be? that is John B Sebastian's genius in this tune: we'll never find out
@rockboy52 I don’t take the song that way, to me he’s thinking about when he was younger and liked a younger girl,
