Product of the 80's Lyrics

Put me into syndication
Broadcast to a network station
Of people viewing their favorite episodes
I can't find a new pitch to throw the studios
I need a rerun to better cast the next series of events
In the air-timeline lapse
My made for TV type was written off
In the last season when I wasn't focused on the cue

I grew with David Lee and Tiffany
In love with Billie Jean and I was terrified of Freddy
I grew up, no DVDs or MP3s
No plasma screen TVs cause I'm a product of the 80's

For Pacific/Eastern times and the Bayside Saved By teens
Who were opening with lines
And the songs became our themes
Like a Prayer and Like a Virgin
A music to video version

I grew with David Lee and Tiffany
In love with Billie Jean and I was terrified of Freddy
I grew up, no DVDs or MP3s or plasma screen TVs
Cause I'm a product of the 80's
When Punky Brewster came around
The afternoons stopped being down
I grew with David Lee and Tiffany
In love with Billie Jean cause I'm a product of the 80's

I grew with David Lee and Tiffany
In love with Billie Jean and I was terrified of Freddy
I grew up, no DVDs or MP3s or plasma screen TVs
Cause I'm a product of the 80's
When Punky Brewster came around
The afternoons stopped being down
I grew with David Lee and Tiffany
In love with Billie Jean cause I'm a product of the 80's

Matt: "The working title for this song was 'Cars' because we felt it had a feel similar to something The Cars would write. Since we thought it sounded kind of like an 80s song, I was inspired to write the lyrics about what it was like to grow up in the 80s and how that shaped me into the person I am today."
