Two Small Deaths Lyrics
while I was at work, while I was at play
so i cannot cry, what is that for
forwards always forwards
backwards, sideways
to miss and to mourn
the world at their passing
i’m saving up all of my strength
for when i finally fail
at keeping you safe
slow and easy,
i’ll be creeping around them,
picking pockets

I googled for a bit and I think I found the right lyrics. They sound pretty correct!
Two small deaths happened today While I was at work While I was at play
A vast light darkens my door So I cannot cry Now what is that for?
Is this the way my mind works? Forwards, always onwards Is this the way my brain waits? Backwards, sideways
I've no heart strong and that's why Sting to miss and to mourn Love, wild at its path Sing
I'm saving up all of my strength for when I finally fail at keeping you safe
when my last friend should leave me it's alright, easy, i’ll be creeping around them, picking pockets
[Edit: cut off before. filled in blanks ]

These lyrics are totally wrong, they appear to be the words for the title track 'Civilian'...
Copy/paste fail Justus0?

two small deaths happened today, while i was at work, while i was at play no less light darkens my door, so i cannot cry, what is that for is this the way my mind works, forwards always forwards is this the way my brain waves, backwards, sideways i’ve no heart as strong and as lasting to miss and to mourn the world at their passing i’m saving up all of my strength for when i finally fail at keeping you safe when my last friend should leave me, slow and easy, i’ll be creeping around them, picking pockets

i don't know if she's saying "a vast light darkens my door," or "all this light darkens my door." i used to think the latter, but then i read this, and now i can't be certain.

where you have "forwards, always onwards," i can't hear the onwards. i hear it as "forwards, always forwards."

i've no heart strong and that's life's sting to miss and to mourn love, wild at its path sing INSTEAD OF THIS, I HEAR something more like: i've no heart strong enough i sting to miss and to mourn the world at its passing
i can't quite hear "slow ride, easy," but i'm not sure what she is actually saying... sounds more like "slow AND easy"... also don't know about "i'll be creeping alone now." i thought she might be saying "i'll be creeping all over"... but it's anyone's guess :)

i can't do the "i've no heart strong enough i" part. i hear a consonant in there for sure, like an "L", but what i'm thinking is that perhaps it's something like "the world at its PAS-SING" where she elongates the syllables over multiple phrases. maybe something like "i've no heart strong and it's LA-STING to miss and to mourn." thoughts?
