I want to leave my footprints on the sand of time
Know there was something that, something that I left behind
When I leave this world, I'll leave no regrets
Leave something to remember, so they won't forget

I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark, soul, everyone will know, I was here

I wanna say I lived each day, until I died
You know that I, been something in, somebody's life
The hearts I have touched
Will be the proof that I leave
That I made a difference
And this world will see

I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know, I was here

I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because, I was here

I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I wanna leave my mark so everyone will know

I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done
I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, I was here

General Commentthis song just makes me think of how we all want to really make a difference in the world, even when we're no longer here...beautiful.

General CommentMy dad passed away today 23 years ago when he was 26. I was born in 1987 so I did not know my father at all obviously but a friend at work told me about this song and when I read the lyrics I couldn't help but think of him, and if he could say things to me on days that I miss him the most these are the kinds of things he'd say to me. I find a lot of comfort in these lyrics even if I know my dad would not have been a Beyonce fan haha. We would have had our classic rock love to share instead :)
