Northern Belle

In a room with dark walls, on an old dusty shelf
Sits a lonely little bird with her eyes full of gloom
As she stares out the window day after day
Singing "How do I get out of here?"

Now really it shouldn't be that hard
With wings on her shoulders

Now of course things are not as easy as they seem
'Cause although she can fly there's a weight on her wings
See, she's not just a lone bird, she's one bird of three
She's the heart of their family

But lately she finding it real hard
As she's navigating through the dark
It's become a real struggle

I remember the day that her wits met their end
She was sitting with her walls when the water rolled in
She cried out for someone, but no one was there
Just her and her utmost despair

Now, no one can seriously tell me
That this is the way her life should be
Carrying three birds yet feeling...
So lonely.

She decided that day that she's flying the coup
And she knows it's the hardest thing she'll ever do
But no matter where she goes she's carrying her love
For those birds she'll always be a part of.

But now she must carry herself
Cause she's tired of living life on that shelf
Now, off to the window she flies
And the wind takes her wings to the sky,
Goodbye.
