Don't Stop (Color on the Walls) Lyrics
Gonna tell ‘em all just what I want
That street two streets I see you and me
Hanging on the empty swings
I'm the Superman and it’s my show
One shoe two, gonna kick with my new shoes
I'm gonna kick until I need new shoes
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop giving me things
And we’re all just having fun
Sleigh ride boat ride piggybacka ride
I'm gonna show ‘em all how I can ride
One two three, close your eyes and count to four
I'm gonna hide behind my bedroom door
Crayons on walls, I'll color on them all
I’ll draw until I've broken every law
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop giving me things
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop laughing about it
Stop! Don’t stop don’t stop taking me places
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop giving me things
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop laughing about it
Stop! Don’t stop, don’t stop
I said don’t stop, don’t stop, don’t stop giving me things
I said don’t stop, don’t stop, don’t stop laughing about it
I said don’t stop, don’t stop, don’t stop with me

Listen to this song. It's so catchy isn't it? Especially the 'oooh woo ooooh' bits and of course the complementary guitar chords. I honestly think this song was intended for an ad when it was written. I read (on Wikpedia) that Mark worked as a jingle writer for an advertisement company. So he knows what sorts of tunes that people will really grow on, besides the fact that he has a natural talent. Just an interesting piece of FTP trivia I thought was necessary to share with the fans.
As for the song meaning, Mark has stated himself during a live acoustic performance that the song describes what it'd be like if '4 year olds ruled the world'.
The more I listen to them, the more I grow fond of Foster The People. Can't wait for the next record!

Yeah It's definitely about being little kids, although little kids seem kind of menacing after seeing the video for Helena Beat
@corerulez Funny you should mention the little kids being "menacing" in Helena Beat. The whole point of the video is to make the little kids seem evil, but then at the end, they give the man back his youth, thereby helping him.. Its about how we lose innocence as we age, and we need to stop overthinking things and have the same zest for life as children do. To see the world through the unperverted eyes of a child can change everything. I thought the same as you until I looked a little deeper, which you have to do with...
