Love this song. I think some words might be off in the listed lyrics. In the first verse, I think she says "that we guard beyond all the others" It's definitely not "loved" as she says in the second verse. You can hear that she stresses "loved" in the second verse as if she is saying something different. In the 4th verse I think it's "And dogs travel back and forth between the rocks" I think "So tell your secrets to parents" should be "So tell your secrets to parrots", much more Laurie Anderson-y. Also, "And puffs of air" is I think "Blown on puffs of air" In all, the lyrics seem to be about ghosts and connecting to the feelings of those "on the other side".
