There was a time
There was a place
But there was fear inside
A witty line to save my face
The parachute of pride
To cross a line, takes a tiny step
But will this spark, 'cause the bridge to burn
My fear entwined with my regret
A beated path of safe return

There's a thing called love
That we all forget
And it's a wasted love
That we all regret
You live your life just once
So don't forget about a thing called love
Don't forget, forget about a thing called love

So here we are, we're just the same
And you will never know
My secret plan, how close we came
To share another road
And have I lost my only chance
To tell you how I feel inside
Is it just me, I'd like to know?
Or are we all just a little blind?

There's a thing called love
That we all forget
And it's a wasted love
That we all regret
You live your life just once
So don't forget about a thing called love
Don't forget, forget about a thing called love

Ooh
Oh, oh, ooh
Oh, ooh
Oh, ooh, ooh

There's a thing called love
That we all forget
And it's a wasted love
That we all regret
You live your life just once
So don't forget about a thing called love
Don't forget, forget about a thing called love
Forget about a thing called love
Don't forget, forget about a thing called love

    Song Meaning

"There was a time There was a place But there was fear inside"

-He and she were attracted to each other but she didn't want to enter a relationship because she had been hurt by someone else in the past. She rejects him.

"To cross a line, takes a tiny step But will this spark, cause the bridge to burn My fear entwined with my regret I'll beat a path to safe return."

-He's pondering whether he should blow her off or just accept her as a friend. He chooses to be her friend in the hope that things may change in the future.

"Have I lost my only chance To tell you how I feel inside Is it just me, I'd like to know? Or are we all just a little blind?"

-He's wondering if she'll ever change her mind because she's "blind" in the sense that she rejected him, not seeing all he had to offer.

"...And it's a wasted love That we all regret"

-Nobody wants to be in a relationship where their feelings are not honestly reciprocated... This is where the girl was hurt in the past. Her love was "wasted" because her former partner chose to hurt her.

This is honestly one of the most beautiful songs I've come across in a long time. The lyrics are brief while still holding a deeper meaning that nearly everyone can relate to.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
