This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
Finding out that you had lost the little one inside you
Not a sound, but chalk that you had dropped on the floor
And I could tell that when you fell the future never planned on getting easier
God has never been afraid to fill our cups with more than they could hold
Til they all overflow and we drown once and for all
How could I misconceive I was owed something radically radiant
The doctor came through and asked if you'd like to give it name
How can you misconceive our ideals and growing our futures
Some impressive prize I find for placing all the blame
My apprehension got the best of me
Better now than when I found I used to have the gift of amusement
It's funny how without a doubt the family's far more calmer than me
And I will cause a lovers court and do you don't you keep on tapping
Sour-mouth, a coward clout, the dormant gospels nativity
My apprehension got the best of me
Walking dead my heart was moldering
Yeah it got the best of me
The best of me
Pushing it out I heard the healthiest move is to abandon all of my blemish
That's what the hospital staff and the pair of our parents will say
Here I am again directly back to the place where Adam ruined family
Running in a marathon of mental til God shows up again
My apprehension got me nowhere
Swimming in my own filth
Yeah got me nowhere
Nowhere

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Yo La Tengo
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,

“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
Wow. This song really shakes me. Because of it's heavy affects I couldn't not analyze it.
In the first verse I think he's referencing to a miscarriage backed with the verse: "God has never been afraid to fill our cups with more than they could hold Til they all overflow and we drown once and for all" explaining he feels that God has no apathy for Humans.
But in the second stanza the story changes maybe as if it were round 2? Andy states that he isn't worthy of something so magnificent (a baby?) "My Apprehension got the best of me" I think means that because of the 1st miscarriage he thought his life was destined to be bad, up until now. And he's guilty for being negative.
The chorus implies that this guilt eats him alive even when he has reason to be happy.
The fifth stanza is extremely deceiving. Everyone seems to be telling him to be happy about the birth and forget his apprehension. This is a very broad guess, but I think "Here I am again directly back to the place where Adam ruined family running in a marathon of mental til God shows up again" is an allusion to how Adam ruined everything with greed when his life was perfect.
And again the chorus explains his apprehension is still his salted wound.
I hope this helps anyone interested, this may be entirely wrong, don't hold me to it.
I think you've got it right. The line about Adam I believe refers to another song Andy did with Right Away, Great Captain! called cutting off the blood to ten. In that song he finds his wife and brother having an affair. I think the song spans the whole of his relationship with his wife.
