I think it's "Now these tongues don't twist like they did before. Tried to keep you up" Would seem to make more sense that way. Seems to be about taking vengeance against a cheat. This song and the entire album blew me away!

Basically, the song is about the chick cheating and being unfaithful she basically seeks a relationship with the weekend to suck the soul out of him. When she reprocessed the dead emperor, assuming it was her ex lover, she tried to rekindle what they had through the Weeknd whom she mislead into believing she truly loved him. But all along she was using him to mend her broken heart. When they show the three chicks, they were all the same girl. It was to show the 3 sides of her unfaithful soul and as far as the Weeknd was concerned, a part of her was dead to him but he didn't mind carrying on the relationship with her anyway because he had other lovers. When she discovers he no longer loves her and she is dead to him, the empire they shared together collapses and they become world's apart with a fire burning inside each of their souls. So she tries to destroy his heart the same way she did to her previous lover for not accepting her for her promiscuity and betrayal of trust but she is unsuccessful. So the Weeknd finally gets his shot straight gets his heart back and let's all of her go. That's what I got from it anyway.
