Miss The Misery Lyrics

If I had my way
If I had to lose
Wouldn't take back one thing, never had much to choose
Then it dawned on me
Coming down on you
Like a cold sky raining under a burning moon

You've waited all your life
You're wish is coming true
Bless your heart for beating me right outta you

Miss the misery
Need a reason for a change
Need a reason to explain
So turn it on again
Don't change your mind
Your wasting light
Get in and let's
Go, go

What a nice long leash
What a nice tight noose
Never worked for me but sure look good on you
You've waited all your life
Your wish is coming true
Bless your heart for beating me right outta you

Miss the misery
Need a reason for a change
Need a reason to refrain
So turn it on again
Don't change your mind
Your wasting light
Get in and let's
Go, go!

Miss the misery
Gimme a reason for a change
Miss the misery
Gimme a reason to refrain
Miss your misery in a day
Miss your misery in a day
Come on and turn it on for me

Don't change your mind
Your wasting light
Don't make this right
Don't make this right
Get in and let's
Go, go

Shouldn't it be "You're wasting light" not "Your wasting light"?

Lyric Correction

Instead of procrastinating why not just fix them up? Who really cares if it's oyur or you're.... whatevs...

Excellent song. I noticed that Dave really likes the "Noose" reference. Is this the third song with the word "noose" in it? (Best of You, and Generator being the other ones).

Yeah, yeah, you are completely correct. I really think he may have another one.

Not Valid

yes i believe noose is also in the song rope

I think it's pretty obvious what this song is about. The narrator was in an abusive relationship, and now he's out. But he doesn't necessarily like that the relationship is over. He's so happy that he's not being manipulated anymore, but at the same time, he wanted to be with her. He doesn't know what to do because he misses being hurt by this girl, and just wants to make up his mind. Does he want her back with all of her abuse, or does he want freedom without love?

My Interpretation

This song to me is a tribute to great Seattle bands; especially Alice in Chains.

I don't necessarily agree with you, but I can see how you'd think that, and that's a cool idea. It fits well enough, but to me if thats what its about, the lyrics might seem like sort of a dig at all those bands, which I doubt he would do.

I think it might just be about people who make life hard for themselves and him not wanting to be a part of that

Not Valid

don't remember posting the above and was about to counter it until i realized it was, me butwhatever.

REVISION (i guess?) Could be people who take the Seattle bands too seriously. IE all the people who claim every Nirvana song was about death/depression, etc. And maybe even him missing those days. Could be, could be.

This is my favourite song on the new album, it reminds me of my ex and our breakup and how angry I was. I just imagine they're saying "Mr. Misery" instead of "Miss the Misery"... it totally fits, haha.
