Are you there
Putting all the words together
Painting your new masterpiece
Ocean air
Carrying reminders of that perfect pair
We use to be

Someday everything ends
Can we begin
Finding our way back before we're too late
And lost in between
The truth and the dream
I've never been more ready to move on

Changing keys
Giving up on me to find familiar things
And try blending in
Know this please
I will not forget the sound of you and me
When we were friends

Someday everything ends
Can we begin
Finding our way back before we're too late
And lost in between
The truth and the dream
I've never been more ready to move on

Bring walls down
Hear all my sound
Let me back in
Love me again

Bring walls down
Hear all my sound
Let me back in
Love me again
Yeah

Bring walls down
Hear all my sound
Let me back in
Love me again

    Song Meaning

i think the song is about a couple who've been together for a long time and he knows that they are almost done; that they have changed and they grew apart. He want to find a way to end it where they can still be friends like they where before. "I've never been more ready to move on." thats how he feels he wants her to love him again as a friend. "And lost in between the truth and the dream." He doesn't want them to end with a lot of drama, between the dream that they can last and the truth they must face that thing are not working out for them. He know in order for them to be friends again that he has to end it soon and peaceful.

Sean Mackin stated in an interview that this is the story about Ryan Key and their former bassist Pete Mosley.

that would fit perfectly to the lyrics, because Ryan and Pete used to write the music for the Yellowcard records. So, it was the sound of Pete and Ryan.

Also, Pete Mosley stated that LP asked him about a reunion too. But he denied because the argument with Ryan was to big to overcome.

Sorry that I had to write two posts, I'm new here. And if there are any mistakes, English isn't my mother tongue.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
